I have always had good experiences when visiting Founderís brewing. The tap selection is usually excellent and I especially like the beer hall type atmosphere they project. The food is good at Founderís considering that it is basically a carry-out window next to the bar. I would not travel to Grand Rapids without at least stopping off a Founderís for a pint or two.

Far and away the best place to drink beer in Michigan. The beer is top notch, the food is outstanding, and the overall atmosphere is unmatched. As a GR native we are lucky to have a place like this in our backyard.

Perhaps this was because we got the "special treatment" but I canít imagine a brewery experience that would be better. We arranged ahead of time on our beer tour and Founder Dave Engbers gave us a personal tour of the brewery and then sat with us for a good hour or so after with us, drinking and talking the buisness. It was very generous of him and very, very cool. The beer was spectacular. Everything we had was even better on tap than it has been in the bottle when Iíve had it before. Unfortunately they had run out of the Canadian Breakfast a few days before, but the Kentucky Breakfast was superb. The Maple Brown was one of the best beers Iíve ever had - no joke. It was definitely the highlight of our 3-day trip.

Nice chill atmosphere with focus on good beer. The staff is relaxed and helpful. Food is fantastic and always something new on tap. Good prices for the quality, great brewery.

Ambiance is great. Wooden cozy feel with some nice artwork and some nice views of the brewing equipment with it not being too in your face. Service is great. You can go to the bar or someone will come around and help you out. Plus two bars, plus, and thank you Jesus for this one: they have a dedicated space at the bar for walk ups. Why donít other places do this?!?!? Wish they have a waiting system for tables rather than first come first serve... gets a little intense some times. Selection is amazing both for beer and food. A great mix of prices, styles, and one-offs for the beer. The food menu is mostly sandwiches but there are many different kinds. See above for details on food. The food is amazingly tastey. The only problem is the bread is sometimes too toasty so it cuts your mouth... first world problems. Value is great for beer and food. The beers go by the tier system with tier 1 and 2 being priced perfectly at a little less than you would find them outside the brewery. Tier 3 seems a little overpriced.... ok like way overpriced. Overall this is the place by which all others are judged. Why did I have to start with such an amazing place... now everything else seems lame. I would go out of my way to travel here if I didnít have family in Grand Rapids. Go during the summer so you can also check out the beach. Or maybe during Art Prize... I miss Grand Rapids.... :(

Newly renovated and amazing! This is the benchmark to measure up to, both the beer and the building.

Big tables bench-stlye, amazing deli meat sandwiches, and (at the time) all the backwoods bastard you could dream of. Great day, great experience. Looking forward to returning.

Live in the area, and have been going to Founders for years. Very chill ambiance, open area with lots of seating and tables. Service is good, always very helpful and knowledgeable, food is solid, and the beer is excellent. Always a large selection, tap list changes frequently (but is available online), and the prices are reasonable. Place can be very busy at sometimes, but it is well worth the trip.

Their beer is epic. No exaggeration. Awesome selection and just excellent beer from the double trouble IPA to Breakfast stout. Try them all you will not be disappointed. The bar staff is very knowledgeable their beers very well. Great sandwiches and bar food too. Just an all around excellent place to hang out.
