Founders makes some of my favorite beers and I finally got to stop in for a visit. We went on a Monday night which was packed. $2-3 pints on all their drafts will do that. For how busy it was the service was amazing. As long as you know what your getting next you will always have something to drink in front of you. The only food we got was the beer cheese dip which was delicious.

Great burly dark Michigan brewery in the heart of Grand Rapids with some serious ales to reckon with, peanut shells on the ground ambience and is a really chill place to hang out and shoot some pool but horrible acoustics for live music, which is too bad b/c itís usually good music.

I stopped by Founders while on a business trip. What a great place! This place would fit in perfectly in Northern Colorado. Good beer, interesting location, good food.

Insanely slammed Friday evening. It felt large and anonymous. Service was sporadic, but thatís understandable. Well worth a visit.

I have always had good experiences when visiting Founderís brewing. The tap selection is usually excellent and I especially like the beer hall type atmosphere they project. The food is good at Founderís considering that it is basically a carry-out window next to the bar. I would not travel to Grand Rapids without at least stopping off a Founderís for a pint or two.

For a brewery that is ranked in the top 3 in the world, it is tremendously disappointing to know that their Class 3 beers are rarely, if ever, on tap.
I have supported Founders for almost a decade. I love their best beers (KBS, CBS, Bolt Cutter and the like), but the brewery is growing so fast that it feels like the it has forgotten its roots.
Maybe I just feel a bit scorned by Founders and the manner in which they make their best beers available to locals (see the 2013 KBS fiasco with Brown Paper Tickets), but the company is becoming so commercialized that they seem to have left its biggest supporters in its growth wake.
All-in-all, itís certainly a top brewery in the world, but there are other breweries within a couple hours that I have now chosen to frequent more often than Founders.

Has a true brewer ambiance. Best ever sandwiches for lunch. Build your own sandwich with real ingredients. The barley stuffed candles are a nice touch. They usually have 5 regulars on tap, 2 seasonal, and an occasional rare special. Its the heart of GR.

Very nice place. Great view of brew kettles and fermentors. Has a patio which is nice. If the weather permits the open giant doors and the outside is exposed which is refreshing to say the least. Good beer and food and proper glassware. Waitstaff is friendly and easy going. And you can get beer to go in 64oz growlers! Definately worth the trip.

The taproom had a relaxing feel to it on this Saturday afternoon. The seats at the bar were full and so were three of the tables. No food today, I guess they bring in sandwiches for lunch during the week. Iím glad we ate before we got there. The beer was excellent as I got to try some offerings that they do not bottle. I would like to go there on a night when they have a band and get loaded on fresh Founders.
