Made my first trip to Founders for the Ky Breakfast release party.BR
This should be the model for most brewpubs to follow. Great atmosphere, open and comfy. It doesnít hurt that itís ran by some of the best people in the biz, Dave, Mark et al. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment I spent there and wish I had a place like this near my home.BR
Good food and outstanding service. The only drawback to the new pub is the parking. When busy, youíll be finding a side street to park on.

Nice plave to have a beer. Stopped in on a monday afternoon. Beer selection on a chalkboard with no descriptions. If you donít know whatís what, it is a bit hard to order. The servers are busy and canít really explain anything (or donít want to) Great beer, mediocre service. Didnít eat, but the horseradish cheese dip for pretzels was tasty.

Visited on a Friday night. I like the new location downtown. Large open floor plan with a football-field long bar. Their beer is good, of course, but they didnít have much that I hadnít tried. They also sell bottled beer to go out of a small cooler, but it wasnít well stocked. They serve food, but I didnít eat. Iíll go again next time I make it to Grand Rapids.

I think Founders is becomming my favorite brewery to visit here in Michigan! Every beer I had was outstanding and the building was old and rustic (very cool).

Very cool place when visited. Jazz band playing while I sipped on some marvelous brews. The service was great and the bartenders were very jovial and laughed at/with us quite often. Great selection including: Deca, KBS, Blushing Monk, All NIght Long and others. Fine establishment and a damn fine brewery.

This place is all about the beer. The ambiance and service are not great, but not bad. However, the beer is great. Sandwiches are really good also.

This place has an awsome feel to it. Old warehouse with peanut shells on the floor, and large windows overlooking the brewing and packaging rooms. They do live music two nights a week and the times I was there the bands were very good. The cool part about it is that Iíve seen 4 or 5 different styles of music there. Jazz, Bluegrass, Indie Rock, Jam Bands, Blues, etc.
The service was very friendly and efficient, and also very knowledgable about their offerings, although I am one who prefers to go to the bar for my beers anyways. It was a little smokey there, but I was told that they are building a new place and that it will be smoke free. Which is good.
The food was outstanding! They serve deli sandwiches, but it isnít your average sandwich. It was very fresh and very big. The olí lady had soup and also enjoyed it.
The only drawback was the lack of IPA, the beer I went there to try, and that the bathrooms were too small.
Overall, Iíd recommend this place to anyone looking for a good sandwich to go with their quality beer, and to see live music.

Visited on a Friday evening for some beers. I was not let down. Their Dirty Bastard was great, but the Kentucky Breakfast Stout is reason enough to go there. If they only bottled it. Had an appetizer that was really good. The place itself was a spread-out spacious room with a nice crowd. A really fun place. I could go on about how much I enjoyed this place. Go there, and be sure to get the Kentucky Breakfast Stout if you can. Wow!
