I have always loved Founders beer and finally got to check the place out in person when on vacation. The pub is rather large and very nice, staff is friendly and the beer does not disappoint. Food is mostly sandwiches but they are rather tasty I did not like the ballpark feel to it. What i mean is you have to stand in like to get food. Once for ordering and once for pick up. Took about 45 min. Id much rather pay a little more to have service with food than have to stand in line. Other than that great place.

Been here a handful of times for special events, as well as just meeting up with other beer guys across the state. Nice atmosphere inside, big ceiling but floor space is somewhat limited - they are often crowded, but the recent addition of the biergarten helps. Even in the cold months, they have heaters & fires to keep warm, as well as a secondary bar outside with the more popular beers on tap. Always a good selection (although many people tend to complain that stuff like KBS, CBS, etc. isnít on tap all the time) but what do you expect? It seems like they often have some nice tap-only, specialty brews & the new, small barrel brewing set-up will continue that trend. EXCELLENT food, & they have a huge menu with tons of delicious sandwiches. So far, the reuben & the cranberry chicken salad have been my favorites. They throw great parties & even when busy, it never takes too long to get another beer or food. They need more seating on the inside, maybe, but not a huge complaint. As expected, this place must be visited by beer lovers at least once.

A pretty impressive complex. Lots of seating inside and out. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Some nice brewery only beers. Had a pretty good sandwich. If I lived in town I would be there all the time.

What an awesome space! Reminded me alot of Wicked Weed Brewing in their layout. Very open and broad with three bars with slightly different selections. Wonderful staff with a great attitude and super friendly demeanor. Great sandwiches (27 options...) and starters. Very well priced beers. Just wish they had more pub only offerings. Not that many non-standards to choose from when I was there. Beautiful building though. Lots of wood.

Itís all about the beer. Founders has a grew selection of standards and some beers that are only available at their hous. Food is good, place is huge, service is hit or miss plus theres live music (that could get in the way of drinking)

Ambiance is great. Wooden cozy feel with some nice artwork and some nice views of the brewing equipment with it not being too in your face.
Service is great. You can go to the bar or someone will come around and help you out. Plus two bars, plus, and thank you Jesus for this one: they have a dedicated space at the bar for walk ups. Why donít other places do this?!?!? Wish they have a waiting system for tables rather than first come first serve... gets a little intense some times.
Selection is amazing both for beer and food. A great mix of prices, styles, and one-offs for the beer. The food menu is mostly sandwiches but there are many different kinds.
See above for details on food. The food is amazingly tastey. The only problem is the bread is sometimes too toasty so it cuts your mouth... first world problems.
Value is great for beer and food. The beers go by the tier system with tier 1 and 2 being priced perfectly at a little less than you would find them outside the brewery. Tier 3 seems a little overpriced.... ok like way overpriced.
Overall this is the place by which all others are judged. Why did I have to start with such an amazing place... now everything else seems lame. I would go out of my way to travel here if I didnít have family in Grand Rapids. Go during the summer so you can also check out the beach. Or maybe during Art Prize... I miss Grand Rapids.... :(
