Cool fest hall feel, but it was way too crowded when we went (early Sunday evening). Fun live music, a big jazz band. Line at the bar was way too long. Decent selection on tap, but not as big as the other brewpubs we went to on our trip. Same for the store; good selection, but not as much as Bells. Couldnít try the food because there was nowhere to sit. Acceptable prices for draft beer, and in-store bottles are good value. Breakfast stout and Backwoods Bastard (on tap, not in the store), were delicious. I probably would have a much higher opinion of this place if Iíd gone at a slightly quieter time. Maybe next time.

At the end of the day...any craftbeer tour of Michigan begins and ends with Founders and Bellís...that doesnít mean they are the best Michigan has to offer (although they might be)...and either and both have likely held that title...its just that there are so many great up and comers (love Greenbush and Dark Horse)...but given their history...and their amazing venues and large amount of beers...they both deserve a lot of kudos. My first trip to Founders was hardly a disappointment...quite on the contrary it met all of my expectations. We visited this past Saturday...and found the venue to be impressive...loved the beers of course...and their were many...but Iíd had many of them over the years given Founders size and breath of distribution. There was a "really" good live band (reasonable $5 cover charge) and the several rooms...and outdoor spaces made Founders a cool place to hang out at. I liked that the age mix was a broad spectrum. At the end of the day Iím starting to like the smaller and more eclectic craftbeer venues (Michiganís Greenbush would be an excellent example...see my review)...but Founders does the big craftbrewery thing very well. Definitely a must visit while in Grand Rapids.

Great value for the beer you get. Flights are easy and straight-forward. My food portion was huge for what I expected. Tap selection was good but I had most before being around Michigan for a long time. Must visit. Drink what you can only get a the brewpub.

No trip to Grand Rapids is complete without a trip to Founders. This place was absolutely hopping on a Friday night at 8:00. People were just streaming in. They have a pretty large parking lot and the price of parking is comped if you take your ticket in. We had two kids with us so we had to be out by 9:00. Not a problem - I understand. Food would have been nice but the line was too long. I enjoyed having KBS on tap and a few others that are not available anywhere other than this location. I will definitely visit again if I come back to Grand Rapids.

Huge....nice patio....was surprised the selection was not a little more deep, but some decent one off offerings. Food was solid. Will be back.

Iíve been to this brewpub multiple times, most recently while playing in Grand Rapids with my band. This most recent time we went right before closing and were able to get a nice table with great service for a quick beer. Obviously itís Founders-specific beers on tap, but they have some nice brewery-only releases which Iím a fan of. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Itís a big place with a comfortable biergarden type of feel. Unfortunately the service wasnít very attentive and there were so many people there that it felt very touristy and was uncomfortable to move. Iíd only visit again very early in the day before the huge crowds show up.

You know you are approaching something wonderful when you see a beautiful woman walking up to a brewery at noon on a Sunday with an empty growler in each hand. This was my first impression of Founders and my impressions got only better. This is the most awesome brewery Iíve visited (so far). It has a great selection of current brews including four only available at the pub, waitstaff that focuses exclusively on beer, a very nice sandwich selection (standing in line to order a sandwich is one of the very few drawbacks of the experience), performance stage that uses the brewing kettles as the backdrop, a huge beer hall with garage doors that open to a patio for expanded seating, a very diverse crowd that included couples, families and a very hungover bachelor party (the groom-to-be kept pushing away the beers put in front of him), a fairly priced gift shop with cold bottled beer and sale items, and a separate space that can rented for private events. If Ron Burgundy was to visit, heíd have to say this brewery, and not himself, is kind of a big deal.

Really cool building, clearly a lot of money has been put into it. We sat outside, which had an awesome ambiance to it. Didnt try food. Service wasnít very attentive. Cool place. Update: I went back a few days later on this trip. Food was outstanding.

I went here on KBS release day. Huge place, full of Founderís memorabilia, kind of like a Founderís museum. Hard to find parking. Service does not come to you and when you go to the bar, theyíre a little indifferent. Only Founderís beers, but they serve a lot of them, including several extremely hard to find ones. Several different sizes of drafts available. They donít rake you over the coals with prices the way they could, especially with highly sought after beers like KBS and Backwoods Bastard. Store was a little disappointing; I wanted a better take-home beer selection. Overall an enjoyable experience, plus you have to go here if youíre GR - in my opinion one of the meccas of craft beer.
