Well worth the visit and upon entering you are met right away with smile and a greeting. Family run place and as such has the same feel to it, so everyone is welcome. The former brewmaster Pierre-Alex is cooking your meat at the Grill/BBQ to your desired specifications, so to you perfection. Service is up to the task yet you get to know more about the beer talking to one of the family members. Some other belgian beers are available too. Saison d’Epautre, La Moneuse and La Vermontoise were on tap and spot on! Prices were absolutely fair. Worth the visit, a place with decent people cooking and brewing proper food and beer.

On this visit in July, the restaurant opened at 18:00 and true to reputation, the old brewer was standing in the middle of the room tossing pieces of meat on the grill. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio with all of the cigarette smokers with children. Blaugies Saison d’Épeautre from tap was enjoyable but outshined by the remarkable shape of their bottle-conditioned 375ml - this was a beer you could settle in with. And as exciting as it was to find the Hill Farmstead La Vermontoise collab on *draft*, it was that painful to find it in dreadful shape. It’s now too old and smells of paper and rubber and odd chemicals. The delightful La Moneuse from tap made up for it. For food, I ordered the steak since it is considered their specialty, and found it to be good but nothing remarkable, just tender steak cooked on the grill. The brewer speaks decent English but the rest of the staff could not understand the questions we were asking. The brewer is friendly as can be and full of smiles and loud stories, and the staff were accomodating and sincere and funny and the visit made for a fun first night in Belgium. I was happy to find the Saison d’Épeautre in great shape, I was happy to learn how to fuck my way through pronouncing "Saison d’Épeautre", and I was happy to finally meet the jovial man full of life who runs this brewery.

Visited January 2014. We came for lunch and weren’t disappointed with the flame cooked steak, homemade fries and steak sauce and delicious bread (although the salad was a bit brown around the edges). We tried the three Blaugies draught beers (there is also Bavik Pils) and they were all very interesting and very good: Saison, Vermontoise, and Special Noel; although maybe served a bit too cold. The place has the grill in the middle of the room and there are old beer signs and photos, some from the former old brewery in town. The brewer came over and talked to us for a few minutes, mostly about the Hill Farmstead collab. If you are coming during the week, especially off-season, I might call ahead. We were the only customers for lunch on a Wednesday and I think they locked up when we left about 1:30 pm. Also, I would say this was much more a restaurant than some place to just sample beers.

Modern barn conversion but retaining some ambience. Food is excellent - seems a little pricey on the menu but quality is high and portions huge. You can watch the meat being cooked on the griddle in the middle of the cafe. Beer limited to the excellent Blaugies product and a few others. Sevice is also very good. Highly recommended.

An amazing beer, interesting beers, ducked over the French boarder to this place for dinner grilled meats and interesting beers. Sadly didn’t to see the brewery but I was told by Phil Markowski that if you this is one of the most interesting breweries you will see and can you say shoehorned in. Must go back some day.

Visited last summer. Got a brewery tour, stayed over for a night. Had the Blaugies beers, ate a grilled steak, ... Le bois de blaugies is at the back of this place and is interesting to go for a walk.
Ambiance: Good, perfect outside in summertime and inside in wintertime.
Selection: rather poor obviously, doesn’t really bother.
Food: good, live grilling by Cédric.

Excellent place. One of THE brewery tap visits on any Belgian trip. Steaks cooked on the range. Beers straight from the brewery next door, which sadly cannot be visited.

Right in the middle of nowhere on the French border is this little gem - the restaurant and brewpub of Blaugies Brewery. They only brew 4 beers, and one of those is seasonal but the La Moneuse is excellent. Food is cooked from 12pm onwards on the griddle in the centre of the restaurant. Choose your meat and watch it cook. Plenty of food and well priced. They will look after you. Great place, on all fronts
