Did not expect this. A great little pub in the middle of nowhere. Great family s etting with very good selection. Food is slow to come, but worth it. Not very disabled friendly. Would hqve likes the option of flights.

Found by accident - really glad we did. We enjoyed a really good meal with some outstanding beers. Truly a gem. One of the most friendly pubs I’ve visited.

We have visited this establishment several times over the last couple of years. We keep coming back for the vast and ever-changing selection of import and microbrew beers that are on tap. The tap and bottle selections are extensive. My wife and I vacation here in the Smoky Mountain region annually. We both admire the beer selection the food and the outgoing kindness of the staff. If it is a game of darts that you desire, The Fox and Parrot has the supplies you need to practice that game of Cricket, 301, 501, or that game of "Just for Fun." If the owner is available, he may just join in on a game or twelve also. This man has a lot of talent when it comes to darts. The food is excellent. Belly-up to the living room style bar, order a pint of your favorite beer, order some food, and make new friends at this Oasis in Gatlinburg.

With the service rated so low you may wonder how the overall is so high? The palace is just that good. Ambiance is GREAT. I love the at home feel to the place. mismatched everything! I love it. Service is slllooowwww, (I even got my own beer once because no one was out front)but everything is homemade from scratch so kick back watch the big tele and have a beer while you wait. Selection is the best in the area bar none, Period. Next nearest place with even semi decent beer is a VERY long way away from this place. So this place gets a phenominal 15 on selection! Food is out of this world good. the service being slow does not matter once you get your food. THE BEST fish and chips known to man, THE BEST Reuben I have ever had. Pretty much anything I had I loved on this menu. Value, it is not expensive! I was shocked once I got my bill (every time I have gone) Witht he type of beer I like I was shocked the price is not higher. Overall, if you want faster food there is another pub down the street where they sever Square fish with French Fries (no I am not kidding they call it fish and chips, but eh?) Yeah the service is lacking here but it is made up for with phenomenal quality and a at home feel to the place. Say hi to Bryan the owner and tell him the couple from jersey still talk about his place!

I passed the sign for this place before I processed what the sign said: English Ales & Darts. I stopped, turned around and saw that the other side of the sign advertised 85 beers. For the beer connoisseur the selection may be a wee bit of a disappointment, although the selection was well beyond anything else I saw in the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg vicinity. The focus is on English ales, so there are no Belgians. But I found a couple of American micros I’d not tried and was very satisfied with the service and draught quality, price, etc. The ambiance is great, tons of English memorabilia, flags, soccer jerseys, and as promised, proper dart boards. The FOOD is AMAZING if you like pub fare. My wife had the fish and chips (perfectly authentic, served on newspaper with malt vinegar) and I got the best corned beef Reuben I’ve ever tasted. The owner cooked all the food himself and talked shop about beer with me for half an hour. He’s trying to wrangle a 3 bbl setup so go buy a pint from him and support his effort. Great place!

A very interesting place to say the least. It is well off the beaten path, which in Gatlinburg is a good thing. It is housed in a 3 story building with the top floor dedicated to the tavern. The atmosphere is very eclectic. A variety of chairs, couches, and tables fill the main room, with a balcony that gives a great view of the area. A bar at the back of the room services everyone. I believe 8 tap handles at the bar, and an unused cask handpull adornes the bar. I almost jumped out of the building when I saw the handpull, with thoughts of cask conditioned ales in the hills of Tennessee, but this was dashed when I was informed that no distributor would get the casks in stock for them. The bottle list was about 85 deep which is very respectable, with an obvious focus on English beers, but with several microbrews sprinkled in. The menu is small, but mainly full of authentic English-style foods, with the exception of a few things for the kids. The food was excellently prepared, with good sized portions and was a great value for the price. The only knock I have on the place is the service. The teenager that was handling the place was, well, a teenager. Service was spotty at best, and it was not a crowded night. I did get to talk to the owner a bit, and he seemed like a very passionate beer lover. He talked about opening up a brewery for the tavern in the near future which is a huge plus. I recommend this place, but have patience. If you are wanting your food quickly, this is not the place, but if you don’t mind a bit of a wait, then stop in and enjoy.

Very clean Pub with the beast fish & chips I have ever had in my life. Was served at the bar by the owner Bryan who was very friendly, and although by himself, I got great service. There is an English hand pump but no one to supply him with cask beer. All this place needs is to put a local bitter or stout on cask and it would be perfect.

Recently visited again and feel the need for an update because this place has gotten even better (i.e., the beer selection on bottle and tap has both increased). The Fox and Parrot is truly one of those rare gems that everyone wishes they had nearby. The only way this place could become more unique is to start brewing it’s own selection of beers. If in East Tennessee, this place is an absolute must.

It is time to update my rating for the Fox and Parrot because Brian has been very busy making this place more awesome than it ever has been. If you haven’t been to the Parrot before, it is best described as being a welcome guest in a home. Everything on the simple menu is made from scratch. The highlights being the best, authentic fish & chips and the best beer cheese available for hundreds of miles around. The atmosphere could not be homier. What has really established this tavern as a must stop in the area is the expanded beer selection. 31 taps are now available. He’s got the only Sweetwater, Yazoo, and Left Hand taps in the county. He had Motorboat on tap a couple weeks ago, which I have never even seen in Tennessee before. The only negative about this place is the efficiency of service. It is only timely if the tavern is nearly empty, which happens often during non-tourist-season times. If it’s busy at all, forget about getting food in a reasonable time. I understand that this is because the kitchen is very small, all food is prepared from scratch, and the mood is very lax here, so it gets a pass. Service has always been very friendly and personable if not speedy.

A must for beer in Gatlinburg. It’s a little out of the way, but that’s good...it has a valley all to itself. In the second story of a craft shop, it is privately owned and operated, and the owner is often tending bar or at least present. Very casual atmosphere, almost like being in my own house. The beer selection isn’t huge, but changes fairly regularly. I can’t think of a better selection in Gatlinburg, anyway. If you want to play darts, I suggest bringing your own. The lanes and boards are good, but the house darts aren’t.
