56 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 1/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20
As you might imagine for an Army store, this is serviceable but not very imaginative. Nevertheless, prices on almost every beer beat everything "in town," with some weird exceptions (Rogue beers are about a dollar more than youíll find in town, for whatever reason). Beer selection is hit or miss. Thereís a good seleciton of the standbys like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as well as some of the heavier duty stuff like Flying Dogís Imperial Stout and Double Pale. Thereís also a hefty seleciton of the usual German lagers. You wonít find much thatís wide-ranging--no Belgianís, for example. On the other hand, around Christmas I almost always find Kulmbacher Eisbock in plentiful supply. For prices alone, this place is worth the visit, if youíre willing to settle for the tried and true while shopping the red, white, and blue.
