Visited on 09/09/12 around a 10 minute walk from Winchester BR station. Also home to the Fulflood Arms brewery. Outstanding appearance from the outside with late 20’s/early 30’s green glazed tiles. I ’think’ it was a single roomed pub but not 100% as it was towards the end of a beery day and we sat outside on the street on a bench. Clearly a locals boozer built for a 30’s housing estate. Service was fine. 4 cask beers available and one criticism is that they were all very samey 4%ish blonde/bitters. One beer from the home brewery (which I didn’t enjoy, I don’t doubt the quality just not a good beer in my opinion), also beers from Everards, Nethergate and Upham.

Slightly outside the city centre, this is well worth an excursion; the exterior is outstanding, with the original glazed tiles and Winchester Brewery signage. Don’t let the GK pub sign put you off - there are five hand pumps with no GK beers in sight - in fact there’s at least one brewed on the premises. The interior has been refitted sympathethically, but doesn’t quite achieve the same quality as the outside.
