I visited the place in a Monday evening. I’ve had some of the beers earlier but they were handbottling so I wanted to try them as fresh as possible. Also, I heard that they had renewed the brewery. Nevertheless, the beers didn’t impress me a lot. I didn’t try the food but my friend ordered something and didn’t get the portion he had ordered. The beers were served quickly. The place looks like.

A large beirhaus and taproom. Food was good local fare. Service was outstanding and the staff seemed to know their beer. Nice outdoor beer area set in the palace setting.

Spent an hour or two in the biergarten with my wife, reading a book and having some beers. Really nice setting to spend some time, much cosier than inside. Beer list was ok, service a bit slow and pretty hard to get their attention. They were very busy setting up the terrace for the evening shift, and then all of a sudden the customers who were already present, were not important any more. Had some of the beer sausages, was pretty decent.

Had an unexpected layover at the station and got here quickly on my bike, great decision to risk it. A cheerful place and easy to feel at ease, though there are a couple of relatively incompetent servers here. Sat inside this time, surprisingly enormous interior, aircraft hangar-meets-Bavarian beer hall. Outside seating in front and a Biergarten in the back. Würste were pretty textbook and the lone beer I had was much better than the ratings here would have led me to believe. They are said to have some bottles to take away, but were out when I checked.

Large brewpub within Schloss St. Emmeram, which is worth a visit in itself (guided tours possible). Three beers (the ususal Helles, Dunkel, Weizen/Weisse) plus a seasonal. The last one is usually the most interesting. Food is good. Plenty of space inside and outside.

Big building, high-ceilinged inside space. Polished brass everywhere. Doppelbock available and was decent, but I don’t dig the vibe of the place at all.

December 2011 - A little hard to find, but closely clustered with the Schloss Turn u. Taxis, this is a large-for-Germany restaurant/brewpub, bright and open, and nicely situated in a grand, historic building. Visiting in wintertime, the garden wasn’t an option, but the warm and inviting dining room was a nice alternative. The beer and food offerings are solidly centered in the regional styles -- weisswurst, pretzels and such -- and a light, dark and maybe a bock or weizen. The two beers we tried were solid enough if uninspired, like most Germany beers. Most definitely a good spot for lunch, dinner or just a beer if you find yourself in this neat city. (Brewery #562)

Brewpub in big medieval stone castle with romantic beer garden and park especially at night. The service was very slow even seemed uninterested. Inside there’s large beerhall with wooden interior. Pretty quiet place (without any music) although we were there in August around 9 p.m. So-so beers, Historisches Landbier was quite interesting.

We sat outside in the courtyard and had a beautiful view of the cathedral. Beers were decent but nothing special.

Very nice place to go. Big beautiful brewpub with nice beer garden. Great food and good prices. Helpful staff and quite good beers.
