Enormous place, easily the biggest of the Kolsch spots in town. Tons of seating, a pretty cool vibe, and of course, Gaffel Kolsch. Not my favorite Kolsch, but it’s a cool place.

Extremely close to main train station. Huge place with lots of seating. Wait-staff is walking around constantly with racks of the 0.2L Koelschs so even with the small glasses you never run out (easy to lose track though). Touristy but pleasant.

Close to the cathedral. Visited early morning. The beer was surprisingly in good condition (better than bottled). Large and touristy. Not a must.

Rather touristy feel to this place, and slow service. On top of that, Gaffel is definitely not my favourite kolsch. It’s on your way through the city centre though, so you may as well drop in.

Visited with a local. Obviously Gaffel Kolsch is the only style of beer available but it tastes so good when it’s so close to where it’s being brewed and the ambiance like this. Great pictures on the wall of the history of Gaffel, benches everywhere, a bit loud but that’s what it’s supposed to be. Food was great, had some schnitzel "Gipsy style". Location can’t be better across the square from the Dom.

Visited on a Friday in March 2010. Large and very crowded place. Only tried their Kölsch, which was ok. Nice and clean toilets. Staff was quite friendly. Not the best place in town but worth a visit if one is nearby. Very central location, not far from the Main central station.

Dropped in on my way between other Kölsch-hauses, and enjoye two glasses while talking to a friendly waitress and some locals. Not my favorite place in town, but the beers were nice. Wouldn’t have missed it if I didn’t go there, but I will at the same time recommend stopping by if in the area.

Nice (HUGE) place, but as I really don’t care for the beer I will say that I at least enjoyed the marvel of German engineering/plumbing when visiting the bathroom.

A large pub that feels older than most, lots of antique furniture. Smiling, quick and able staff - better service than average Köln spot. Simplistic, but as clean as it gets beers that almost drink like water.

A rather snug Kölsch-Brauerei that had that ’we’ll keep you warm in the winter’ feel about it. From round timber tables to timber chandeliers and mantels, a timbered long-bar bearing porcelain tiles and timber near everything else. The service was great on our visit (it was quiet) - the sky outside erupted to release a good hour of rain, this place here kept us soughted. A single meal of bockwurst und kartoffel knödel and a very decent, quaffable Kölsch and I left all satisfied and hungry for another brewhouse. Has an old teahouse layout about it that makes it unique against its Baroque/Gothic facade. Good for a social or silent drink.
