Located on the central square of Sesslach is this charming restaurant that serves as a second tap for the local Kommunbrauerei (the other being Gasthof Reinwand just across the square). The Seßlacher Hausbräu is served from CO2 keg, and I found to be an unremarkable amber lager with quiet citrus hoppiness and faint paper and metal off-notes. The Kommunbrauerei is located just southwest of Roter Ochse, housed in a small building set in the stone city wall.

Charming courtyard Biergarten, restaurant and Gasthof/hotel serving as half of the social hub on the Seßlach market square.
The house tap Pilsner by Würzburger Hofbräu literally pales in comparison to their local Kommunbräu, which is all you’ll need to feel right in the midst of Franconia even at its Upper-Franconian edges. 3-5 bottles for regional Weizen, Schwarze alkoholfrei etc.
Arrived too late (after 23h00) to have anything more interesting than Currywurst & Salat, but food on the big company outing’s neighbouring table looked good, service was prompt & friendly despite impending closing time and the sympathetic Herbergsvater very talkative. The upstairs courtyard rooms are a tad pricey for the area, but probably well worth it.
Take-away 2L Siphon/growler and 1L wine bottle fills available.

The larger of the two pubs serving the community’s own beer, also located on the main square; the courtyard serves as beer-garden; besides the Kommunbräu some pretty bland beers are offered.....

Restaurant and hotel in the centre of Sesslach, and the second outlet for the Kommunbier. Traditional interior, good food. Outdoor seating in the courtyard. Sesslach has a bus connection with Coburg.
