80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 rosenbergh (334) Helsinki, Finland | January 30, 2011 Popular, crowded and loud pub (at least on weekends). Very nice selection of interesting and hard-to-find beers. Bottles well on display. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 FatPhil (251) Tallinn, Estonia | January 7, 2008| Updated May 7, 2012 What the other guys said! Rating the food purely on the aroma from neighbouring tables - a garlic-lover’s haven, I’m sure. Seems to have changing additional themes to the beer list, rareties and plenty of classics. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute I was there, and gutted that I had to leave Tampere before opening time the next day. Easy to find - head down Hameenkatu away from the train station until you get to the Hameenpuisto esplanade, then hang a right. 2 blocks and it’s on the right.
Rerate: uprate - nosh good, beers fantastic - I love this place! | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 TBone (188) Pori, Finland | December 19, 2004| Updated June 3, 2011 They claim to have 60 different Belgium beers. Also lots of cigars available. I didn’t eat so can’t rate it.
Update: Rotating selection of beers, thet usually have own imports from Belgium, Holland, Germany etc. Cantillon is regular on tap. Propably #1 beer place in Tampere. Nice quiet dining type bar.
Edit. nowadays one of my favourite beer bars in Finland. Lots of rarities and super service. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 tkrjukoff (162) , Sweden | July 6, 2011| Updated June 3, 2011 Early Tuesday evening, almost empty. Very helpful staff, nice atmosphere, calm background music. Somewhat limited tap selection, but the better bottle selection. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 oh6gdx (155) Vasa, Finland | August 15, 2006| Updated June 3, 2011 Very nice place. The selection varies a bit, but usually they have lots of beers (own imported Belgians) as well as "their" standard Belgians. Usually you can find a place to sit, and the service has been extremely good those times I’ve been there. I have had the fortune of having the owner working 2 of the 3 times I’ve been there so far. Food is good, but quite expensive. Definitively a place to visit if you’re beerhunting in Tampere. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 jookos (55) Helsinki, Finland | December 13, 2012| Updated June 3, 2011 Probably the best import-beer place in Finland. The selection is quite nice, even somewhat respectable in international standards. But only assuming you are into belgians. Or polish mead, which suits me just perfectly. It is primarily a bar, but they have a food menu that goes beyond the normal bar munch. Wooden tables, mellow mood. Just a nice place to scroll through some tennish pages of beers they sell, trying to pick one that fits the moment. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 lusikka (32) Tampere, Finland | February 19, 2012 Gastropub Tuulensuu is rich in atmosphere and the service is excellent. The staff know everything what they have and what they will have. Selection mainly consists of Belgian and German beers with loads of classic, rare and even obscure beers as well. Food is excellent, almost as good as the beers they have. My favourite beery place in Finland. Some similarities with Akkurat, actually.
| 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 tiong (31) Espoo, Finland | January 28, 2012 Located near the central Tampere, Gastropub Tuulensuu offers perhaps the best Belgian beer selection in Finland. Lots of own imports in addition of other beers. Selection contains a lot of rare and hard to find bottles and taps even from smaller Belgian breweries. Beer is quite reasonably priced, as is the amazing food. All in all, if you are are a Belgian beer fan, this place is a must visit. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 olio (28) Tampere, Finland | September 10, 2011 Very cozy and spacey place with large windows to the near-by park. Service and proficiency top-notch. Very good selection of belgian and german beers on bottle and a good variety of beers on tap. Constant self importing keeps the tickers busy all year round. Many well-executed tasting and other events and a clear aim to serve the customers something exciting once in a while. A wide selection of wines and cigars too. The food is also very good with a nice range of selections to be mixed with different kind of beers. One of my haunts. Probably the best in Finland IMO. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Kavu (26) Helsinki, Finland | February 6, 2012 Although it’s called a gastropub, it feels more like a traditional beerhouse where you can also have good food. Excellent selection of lambics and other belgians along with some real ciders and other alcohol drinks. Expert bartenders and a great atmosphere. Among my favourite pubs. |
