Genes is great for food, beer not so much. Lots of out of date Polish and random euro imports, meh. Used to have Apis meads but they stopped carrying them. Lets rate a "beer store" as a beer store. Havenít been to the roof deck yet, so Iíll update this eventually. Been coming here since the days of Meyer, this is a grocery store not so much a deli anymore. Meat counter is great as mentioned.

Quite a surprise on my way to a Kyrgyz restaurant on N Lincoln. A great German deli with a great beer selection, some rare finds, good sausages, what more can you ask for?

This is my local butchershop. They have impeccable meats and do in house smoking that will make you weep. Fantastic cured meats and prepared foods, very much a gourmandís wet dream. The beer selection keeps improving and you can find some hard to find Eastern European Strong Lagers here for fun, as well as plenty of locals. Stop in here if, for nothing else, you love meat.
