Georgbräu is located in the Nikolaiviertel, only few minutes walk from the Berliner Dom and Museumsinsel. Despite the central location, there were not much tourists at the time of visit in December 2012. The beer selection is rather poor and covers only two brews of their own: Helles and Dunkel. I tasted the latter, which was refreshing, but a bit light in body. Glassware is sold at the counter.

Very touristy. The Helles was fairly decent.

They get a few points for making their own beer. Problem is the beer isn’t that good. Very touristy, and service is a little surly.

Nice location by the riverside, busy waiters and poor service, as their 2 beers, not a must visit.

Having read the reviews below I think I must have been to a different place. Only 2 beers on but I really enjoyed the dunkel. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was standard German fare. Location probably deserves a better brewpub but hey the whole area is a tourist trap.

My second visit to this brewpub, thought I’d better review it: We sat on uncomfy stools in the center part of this modern, slick, well run place. Outside it was wet and cold, so the mass of tables and chairs outside stood empty, inside it was rammed. As we attacked our Pitcher of Hell and the two fresh, hot pretzel we looked around at the brown tiled flooring noting the green shirted staff scutlling about feeding the masses. Neat booths are in most areas of the inside, we however were perched in the main bar area, lots to see here, you can watch the beers being poured for a start. The beer was fine, as were the pretzal, nice place.

Bottom line, the beers here aren’t good. This place makes two beers is each is quite dire. The food is decent. The place itself is fairly charming and pleasant. The server I had was quite friendly and efficient. Prices are average. Only worth visiting for the sake of visiting.

Cozy place with a lovely view over the river. The two beers are really poor. I won’t set foot here again.

Very nice brewpub on small square righ next to the canal. Due to bad weather we had to sit inside (pitty). Inside it looks more like English brewpub than typical German brauhaus. Unfortunately, only two not so good beers.
