Service here was dreadful.
Iíll try it again although the beers are at best decent, but not word class.
The food is o.k.

A: Nice looking building, rustic feel, large bar that holds about 25 people with seating all around, nice outdoor patio.
Q: The beers were average or slightly above but no consistancy amongst them.
S: Sub Par at best, I went in on a monday night to watch football, there were 2 bartenders and no more than 12-14 patrons. Not once but twice, I sat with an empty glass longer than 10 minutes (literally). I dont expect them to wait on me hand and foot but an empty glass should warrant a response after a couple of minute. Also, a group next to me wanted to order food at 920pm (before halftime of football game) and we told friers and grill were turned off already...even though kitchen was open until 10pm. Sucked for them.
S: They had 6 taps going upon arrival and a guest cider. Their beers were a Altbier, Light Lager, Pumpkin Ale, Scotch Ale, IPA, and Porter. Their Stout had kicked earlier that day.
F: I ordered their Brewmasters Burger and it was decent, served with french fries.
Price: 6 dollar pints is higher than any other microbrewery that I have been to in the area...the median price in area was about 4.50 to 5 bucks.
Overall, a really nice place to be at but I would try Hyde Park Brewing over Keegan and Gilded Otter.

Great location...beautiful place...pretty good food. The beer varies though from average to occasionally very good. Add the music...often live...the outdoor seating...the views of the "gunks"...and the eclectic and very mixed outdoorsy crowd, and you have a mostly winning combination. Best to stop after a day of hiking.

Large beautiful pub, lots of wood, feels like a large ski shack type of place. Brewing equipment right in the middle of the main floor. Two levels inside that probably sits 200 and another 100 on the patio. Good time on the patio that almost make you feel like youíre a remote area. I three pints, a terrible hefe, an acceptable IPA and a very good oatmeal stout. So obviously I have mixed feelings about the beer there. Food was what I expect from this type of place, satisfying slightly above average pub fare. Worth a visit.

I thought this was a decent brewpub. We didnít eat here, but had a couple of drinks, and the beers were alright, though there were not a ton of standouts. This place is worth a stop if you are in the area.

Awesome location thatís right of a hiking trail and adjacent to a river. Very earthy/crunchy vibe. The flight of 8 beers was relatively cheap, I think only $8 or so. The food and service were both good. Most of the beers were solid, although the IPA was a bit of a disappointment. Looking at the ratings though it looks like I just got a bad batch.

Located on the next to the Plattekill River just west of the center of new Paltz is on of the few brewpubs in the Hudson Valley.
The Gilded Otter has a large resturant area with plenty of tables, a fairly sizeable bar, and a nice patio for good weather.
On draft are usually around 8 beers, all of which they brew on premise. Most beers are tasty and close to their respective style.
Food is usual pub food well executed. Atmosphere is a nice mix, nothing roudy or out of hand.
I think the food is a bit expensive but New Paltz is a bit of a tourist area during the nicer weather.

Visited here with dickinsonbeer on the way to/from bctc a few years ago. Pretty standard brewpub lineup. Got the sampler. Have no idea where my ratings ended up. Food was meh. Not worth the stop in my opinion.

Killing time while my wife was getting nails done prior to a wedding I was happily surprised to find a brew pub. Ordered a beer sampler and an appetizer. Place was really nice especially the patio. food was decent and beer was just ok but worth stopping by if you find yourself in the area

Went here while in town for a wedding. i was really digging the ambience, kinda of a warehouse meets lodge theme. Didnít have the food but the beer was alright. We tried three of them and they all were a little flat but tasted pretty good. If you are in town not a bad place to visit right by the river.

Sizeable, bright, airy restaurant/brewpub wth passable beers. Nothing special, and the stff as is typical in hese large places do not know their beers, or make up an answer. At least the beer was not served too cold. Nice town, but was very crowded mid-August day. Friendly service. Not worth going too far out of way, was on my route to Albany.
