72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 VsXsV (32) Linköping, Sweden | May 20, 2013 Visited during RBSG ’12 with the bus tour. Pretty nice place with a nice patio and a good selection of their own beers. The few of their own beers that I tried were pretty nice (berliner and oak aged brown ale). They’re supposed to have guest taps as well but I didn’t pay attention to them. Didn’t try the food. The place was very crowded at the time and the ambiance was a bit hectic but it didn’t disturb me too much. The staff were really nice and one of the owners sat down and spoke to us for a while. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 womencantsail (390) Garbage Grove, California | August 1, 2012 A cool little location in LA next to some train tracks. I wouldn’t have really expected a brewery to be there if I didn’t purposely go there. Good selection of house and guest taps. Food looked really good, but didn’t eat anything. The restaurant/bar itself is a really cool renovated warehouse space. Staff was quite friendly and prices were decent. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of most of their beers. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 nbutler11 (301) Phoenix, Arizona | July 26, 2012 Visited during RBSG. Very kind staff, but way too commercial for my taste. Respectable selection on tap, and enjoyed one of their ales, but underwhelmed by their food and ambiance. | 76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 GT2 (345) Riverslime, California | July 24, 2012 Very cool place next to the train tracks, a strip club, and a plumbing supply warehouse. Ambiance is killer, all open air, almost pool deck like feel. Large tap list in chalk on the board along with the menu. Very crowded and mega popular. We did a flight of house beers- all were pretty disappointing quality wise. Food looked very good, so we ordered crab cakes. They came out as two, extremely small crab cakes. I mean....almost a joke. And they were very expensive. I was a little bit miffed. The tequila barrel aged hefeweizen was interesting....their house IPA was much better- their strongest offering. The new DIPA debuting that day was very poor. Still, just the vibe and ambiance of this place is worth visiting. Service was interesting, we all stood in line and got our beer and our food order and given a ticket to place on the table. Beer came quickly and so did the food. There isn’t really table service in that sense. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 daknole (300) Scottsdale, Arizona | July 24, 2012 Huge place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Kind of a pain to wait in line for beer and/or food. Beers were average at best. But for a family friendly place, this is cool. | 62 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (350) Kyoto, Japan | July 23, 2012 Loved the look and feel of this place. Like an old airport hanger that is half open. Great for a sunny day. Food looked awesome and healthy to boot, which is rather rare around here. Beers need attention. Should have hit the guest taps. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Blairgus (73) California | March 25, 2012 23 mar 2012. Neat little bar. Seating is long tables that you share with others. Nice food and pretty good prices. Their bee isn’t amazing but they have lots of great guest taps. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 MPalecek (20) Racine, Wisconsin | March 19, 2012 Is a drinking place for 30-somethings, with indoor picnic tables to sit at. Bar service was slow. Was served a forgettable stout (a "GRB and Hangar 24 partnership" brew). Would have been better off buying one of the 14 or so guest taps. Some nice choices. Some nice items on the menu, including a delicious looking cheese plate and awesome looking red coleslaw. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 lozo130 (8) Ohio | February 26, 2012 Stopped in to Golden Road for lunch a few days after their grand opening. The food and service were both great. Have the pretzel with spicy mustard and the Either Side of the Hill. The place is huge with lots of banquet style tables, along with a nice patio area with more seating. Check this place out, you wont be disappointed. Also, it’s kid friendly at least at lunch. I had my 2 year old and there were several other couples with kids around. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 gd4evr (31) Mar Vista, California | November 15, 2011 Finally! A real brewery right here in LA. The sprawling campus of buildings must be a few acres. These guys are going for it and it is a site to see. Big beautiful tanks with plenty of room to grow. I went to their grand opening and it was the best beer event of the year. Tons of great brews, lots of great spaces to check out, and most of all Burning Bush IPA - wow! |
