One of the very best pubs in Amsterdam. Very cosy, nice guy behind counter and cat watching clients. Lavatory could be better, one can barely fit into it and scruffy outlook is not uplifting.

my favorite beer bar to date. Snuggly fit in a small alley off of Singh Canal. Graet feeling here. Small bar with 10 stools & about 10 drafts. Chalk boards teel the beer story. Great place

great place, atmosphere was just what i was looking for for a amsterdam beer bar... brother took me there and it was great, we had a couple of great Belgians including Westy, and the proper pour of the Orval, w/ side shot glass and all, perfect..... highlly recommended.

I’ve been here many times. The place is great. Yes, it’s small and gets smokey and crowded with tourists sometimes, but what are they supposed to do, stop being great so people don’t come there as much? The service is very friendly, and the clientele is friendly too. I had a long conversation with a beertender who told me all about living in this greatest of all cities. Do not miss Gollem if you are in Amsterdam and you love beer.

This place has a great atmopshere for such a small space. I have a video of it if anyone is intersted(TomGavin1@yahoo.com). The lighting is warm, and the bar is covered in worn wood. The selection is great, and the sevice is knowledgable. Make sure to visit the Cracked Kettle across the street, well, it’s actually more like the other side of the alley.

Small and dark like many Belgian beer bars. It had a nice collection of bottles on the wall. Fortunately we got a table in the small upstairs and were comfortable. The selection is unreal - being that I started out with a Westy 12 and 8 says that right away. The selection was large and of awesome quality and rarity, although we are in Holland right in the beer belt. They had tons of Belgian, Dutch, German, Czech, and other beers available. The list went around for quite a bit, very satisfying for new and experienced beer geeks.

I really like this place. It is confined, over two floors and everyone is always friendly. Bar keep suggested Rochefort Trappistes 10 and De Dolle Oerbier after I tore my way through the tap beers. One complaint: not everything advertised is available but selection very impressive nonetheless. The Cracked Kettle beer shop, right outside, was open until late, with a huge bottle selection.

This is a very friendly place, that can provide a great introduction to traditional Belgian beers for anyone visiting Amsterdam. I’ve been there three times and met memorable people each time.
