After numerous attempts at visiting this place over the years were foiled through poor timings, it being closed for a while etc, we finally managed to get here on Monday 30th September 2013. You enter abd tge bar is immediately in front of you to you left. This place reminds me a little of the small bar in Antwerp near the church in the centre, that place also has a small upper floor where you can look down on the bar area. Beer wise it was great to see the likes of Dochtor de Korenaar Belle Fleur and Troubadour Magma Galaxy Hop version on tap both were great. This bar is very small and dark and would be a great stop off in the depths of winter. Really liked this place and being so close to Bier Temple and Bier Koning it us in a great beery area.

First time visited since it re-opened. Was very quiet (a Wednesday in February, but still), the beer range seemed very old and jaded, especially those on tap. Very little ambiance, a sad decline - hope it can recover. Revisited July 2013. Getting better again, still not very busy.

A v cute little bar and a good selection but is pretty blokey although I drank wine the night we visited and the barman was v accommodating so he gets extra ticks for that.

A really cool, tiny Belgian beer bar. They have a lot of Dutch beer as well. The bottle list is interesting, but they were out of a lot of things. They had Chimay Rogue on draft when I was there.

Small, dark pub with lots of old, scratched wood. Some of the panelling doesn’t look so good, but the overall feel is still very welcoming. They play music of many kinds, but all of it high quality. The pub cat wanders around, going to sleep on people’s jackets if it’s quiet enough. Mostly Belgian selection, but also some Dutch, German, and British. A lovely place to spend an afternoon. The cheese platter is also very good.

I was really pleased with their selection focus on good Belgium beer, however I think in some areas they could improve. There was a lot of generic beers for example but when you can get Pannepot; De Dolle, Cantillon & Boon Kriek you feel awkward about this minor complaint!
I really felt for their weird bar-tending options. A packed peak-period time, a lot of customers. why only one bar-tender? He did a magnificent job and washed all the glasses thoroughly whilst pouring for punters in the appropriate method. I respect that in a bar man!
I found the place to be extremely atmospheric with some great chat around the table. It’s an old skool place so don’t expect a temple, expect a lot of chat, good music, good vibes and an in-house cat.
I really liked this place for the Belgium beers and would gladly visit again. It has room for improvement and is no way at the levels of the exceptionally run Beer Temple.

Very small pub located just in one of many Amsterdam small alleys, just in front of The Cracked Kettle (one of the main two bottle shop in town). This place is small and unlike most Amsterdam pubs there is no drinking in front of the pub. 25 people and the place is pretty full. This is yet another Amsterdam pub specializing in Belgian beer. Limited tap list (about 4 I think) but an extensive bottle list. Obviously the full trappist lineup, including the Westvleterens. Westys were relatively affordable at 10 to 12 Euros, about the same price as buying them at the The Cracked Kettle bottle shop just in front. And then a long list of beers written on a black board. The various hand-writing on the board leads me to believe that they have a changing beer list. You can hit this place early on a weekday, forget about finding a seat on busy nights. A nice place but to drink a Belgium beer in Amsterdam but for that type of beer and size of place I much preferred Café Belgique not too far from Gollem.
