The normal GI offerings (with the exception of prohibitively expensive BCS) donít do anything for me. That is why it is always such a treat to go to Goose Island on Clybourn. Theyíve always got rare things available, several cask conditioned ales, and pretty darn good pub fare. It seems that GI has made it a priority here for their servers and bartenders to know their stuff. Always very attentive and knowledgeable. Upscale brew-pub atmosphere within a stoneís throw to one of the better liquor stores in the city (Binnyís). This review does not apply to the Wrigleyville location....which is a big hot mess.

Was waiting to visit this place for ages. Turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. The interior is impressive lots of would with observation windows to the brewery. The service however lacked any kind of enthusiasm or knowledge beyond the basics. Selection was as expected, goose island. Had the bourbon conty which was great. The food however was a rip of. Ordered the cheese and meat platter for sharing, it was so small that I though what they brought was only part of it. Very overpriced, plus is its right next to binnys!

Very large place, huge inside. More of a restaurant atmosphere that has a central bar area on the inside. Lots of room to move around, even when busy, which is nice. Pretty good service. A little disappointed by the tap-list. Donít get me wrong - they had *lots* of beers on tap, but many of them werenít particularly interesting. I mean, I wasnít expecting Bourbon County on tap, of course, but I guess I wasnít in the mood for Milds & Bitters. Maybe itís that time of year, I guess. However, their Berliner was very nice. Didnít get food, but it looked like they had a nice menu with lots of food. Relatively good pricing - they offer some beers in "half" sizes. I wish they did this for all of them, instead of just a select few. Overall, a good visit. Expected a little more, but Iím still glad to have stopped.
Update: stopped in again on my most recent visit to Chicago. Got some food this time... The pulled pork sandwich was great, as was the hummus. Much better tap selection this time around. Couple new barrel aged beers & saisons that were all pretty tasty. Bumping up my rating, this visit was much better.

Went here after Local Option was way too crowded for more than one beer. Night and day. Got two seats at the bar, immediate and personal service. The food was awesome and the beers were never bad. You should visit this one for sure.

Very nice and laid back place. We sat by the bar which was located in the center of the place. Loads of Goose Island beers on tap and bottles. Most interesting was the three barrel aged beers on tap. They serve flights, 10 dollars for 4 different beers. We had a really good time on this Friday evening. Serving was really good and it wasnít too crowded.

Very chill brewpub with a cool atmosphere. Didnít really feel too crowded on a Saturday night (although the snow probably helped that out a bit). They had a great deep-cut rock soundtrack going on, just loud enough to be noticed, but not so loud that you canít talk to people. The wait staff was kind, courteous, and very knowledgeable on the beers they have on tap. They have nearly thirty Goose beers - more than Iíve seen at the majority of tap rooms although not as many as some gastropubs that boast of how many taps. Pretty good food selection too, nothing amazing, but hit the spot nicely: Iím not typically a french fry person, but I was talked into ordering it for the garlic aioli, and was not disappointed! Fair prices, and pretty good for the city.

Stopped in on a Friday around 1 pm for lunch and some beers. Thereís a parking lot adjoining the building, which seemed sufficient, but if they were actually busy, I donít think it would have been enough. The slots were pretty narrow, so I was worried I would have dings on the sides when I came out, but thankfully that didnít happen. Inside there is a lot of nice woodwork with a square bar in the middle with probably 30 taps and two casks. They had all goose island beers on with a huge variety. Lots of styles. They also had a few one off barrel aged beers that were delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and kept beers and water in our glasses. I ordered the Cuban and my buddy ordered the sausage plate. My food was great and he said the same of his. Both looked good. Thereís a nice little gift shop attached that had t shirts, phone cases, stickers, and about tendifferent glass shales to choose from. This is definitely a place I would come back to.

Spent a few hours here over the summer, a welcome respite from the sauna outside. My buddy and I tucked into the multiple barrel-aged options primarily, but were equally impressed with several cask session brews and a nice range of juicy IPAs. Spacious, convivial, and pretty decent food on top of an outrageously good beer selection.
