58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 Braudog (655) Hampton, Virginia | December 19, 2010 It’s a Biersch -- you know what to expect. Solid German-style brews and excellent food at a reasonable price. Yes, it’s a chain, but a good one. Blocks from the Super Dome and many tourist attractions, good place for a pre-game snack in December. (Brewery #522) | 54 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 9/20 DiarmaidBHK (546) Pennsylvania | September 24, 2011 Nice location on Poydras street. Intimate dark wood. And then you drink the mediocre beer. They had 5 beers. The hefe was decent. Like many reviews have said if you’ve been in one Biersch you’ve been to them all. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 Nate (259) Indiana, Pennsylvania | April 6, 2008 Sort of a standard chain brewpub. Convenient to downtown, of course, and say many conventioneers during the lunch break. Beers were fine, just not much character - it’s saying something for me when I think the Export was their best offering. If you’re near the convention center, it’s a decent place to grab lunch. Nice food offerings, but nothing jumped out at me. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 DuffMan (218) the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | November 30, 2007 We wandered for a while, searching for a place to watch the Monday night football game and came across this by chance really. we new it was here, but we didn’t know how awesome a set-up they have for football! They have 3 42in plasmas set up outside with the sound on PERFECT! Great food, great beer, great place to watch the game. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 SudsMcDuff (178) .....Manchester United.........., Texas | December 30, 2006 a simple place with simple yet enjoyable beers...the bisque is spicy and good and the pizza ain’t bad either...the brew master is a nice guy and the bartender was cool as they come...lagers live here! | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 kiefdog (118) Tampa, Florida | March 1, 2009 Generally consistent with the rest of the Gorden Biersch brewpubs I have been to. Large sports bar/brew pub atmosphere with a reasonable selection of beer and solid food lineup. The Hefeweizen we had was probably the best of the 4 sampled. Food was good and reasonably priced and definitely worth a visit when in the area. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 tomciccateri (116) Albuquerque, New Mexico | April 17, 2012 Nice uncovered patio for fair weather. Long bar with brass footrail with view onto outdoor patio. Adjacent lounge with tall tables and booth seating with view into stainless brewhouse. Six flarscreen TVs with generic sports. Ajoining dining area and open kitchen.
8 taps with standard and seaaonal draughts. Full menu includes salmon dishes and sweef potato fries appetizers.
Happy Hour 4-6:30 M-F. Crowd mostly male convention-goers. Ba kgroung music allows for conversation. No TV audio, thankfully.
| 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 BuckeyeBoy (93) Boise, Idaho | January 12, 2008 In town for the 2008 BCS Championship Game. Very Sad the Buckeyes didn’t win. This place was nice just like the other locations of Gordon Biersch I have been in. They did have one beer i had not sampled. No food this time just a fast brew and out the door. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 Shag (69) Chattanooga, Tennessee | September 22, 2007 This was the closest place to eat next to my hotel. I wasnt jumping out of my seat to go there because I knew it was a chain but I’m glad I did. The atmosphere is nice with a real spacious bar area. The beers were a little better than expected. They seem to focus on German styles over anything. The food was good also. I liked thier beers a little better than Crescent City. Overall worth a stop by if you are in the Quarter. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 10/20 jbruner (63) Tallahassee, Florida | February 12, 2013 Stopped in for a quick beer after leaving Riverwalk. Not a horrible experience but it’s not really a place to go unless you are a German beer fan, in which you have probably been to one of these because they’re all over the country. Just their beers on tap, but they are fresh. I did not try the food. |
