used to be one of my go toís, as it was located in the lobby of my favorite hotel. Food is always good, selection limited to their own beers only, standard flagships plus one or two seasonals. However, i think GB does a great job in brewing the German styles, so props to them for that.
Stopped in after a Georgetown game at the Verizon Center. Pretty upscale decor at this one. A big open layout with a crowded bar area. Same food as the others and decent enough but overpriced for chain restaurant quality. Same beer selection with their Winter Bock seasonal on tap. Decent atmosphere and service was good. There are better places but at least you know what you are getting here.

Stopped in for a drink on the way to dinner one evening. I thought I hadnít tried the Summer Gold before so I ordered a half liter of that one, not realizing until later that I had already tried it before. Oh well, itís not a bad beer, but I was forced to drink it quickly after I lost track of time and realized that my dinner reservations were fast approaching. Despite being mostly full the servers were friendly and prompt. I didnít eat but the food looked good, but that may also be because I was hungry and on my way to dinner. I donít spend a ton of time in Gordon Biersch restaurants but I do try to visit all of them to try their rotating beers. The other half dozen are all the same ones you can find at any location or in the grocery store.
Just a "safe" craft place if you canít find anything better. Food was pretty solid, service was fine. Tall ceilings and bright and loud TVs didnít do it for me. Place was cavernous. Beer lineup very plain. A few I had were good, a few were not.
As with the other GB I have visited it is hard to pinpoint why it does not get full marks - the albeit limited choice of just house beers are good quality, the staff do an excellent job, the atmosphere is informal and sports bar like. I would like spend more time in one but being a foreigner with too many other bars to visit I give chain pubs like GB quick visits. Has got free wifi.
Very much a chain place. Beers were all generic and if German beers werenít your style, you were out of luck. Samplers were quite pricey. However, their rosemary-garlic fries smelled incredible, and it might be enough to convince me to go back again.
Great ambiance in a cool old building with marble columns - classy. Otherwise, itís exactly what youíd expect from any other Gordon Biersch: mediocre food, beer, and service. But itís really close to the Smithsonian.
