Lots of taps and great selection. I just would like them to get newer beers in more often. Do your homework with their online beer menu(subject to change) before going to be ready. REg pub food.

Stopped by on the way through Rocester while visiting a friend. It was either the waitressís first day or she should have chosen another line of work. I ordered a Firestone Double Jack and she came back with a double of Jack Daniels. It is a college bar with pool tables and arcade games, but the taplist was pretty impressive. Some Southern Tier, Firestone Walker, Green Flash, Great Lakes, and many were uncommon as well. Decent prices for beer, and they offer smaller pours for more sampling. Food was a few steps above pub fare, but the descriptions were a bit more grandiose than the actual food. All in all a nice place to visit with a nice selection and some good bites.

The food is incredibly over priced and I found scotch-tape in my pizza with my friends. The beer selection is good, but its not worth the wait or paying double what other bars down the street charge for the same drink.

Great beer selection including a number of West Coast offerings rarely found in Upstate NY. Prices are a bit high - $7 for an 11 oz. glass of Firestone Walker Double Jack - but more of the standard selections are reasonable priced. Food is average - Iíd really just go there for the beer.

This is a great place for craft beer. I counted over 150 taps last time I was there. Many very average and popular beers, but at least they did not have and Miller or Coors on tap. Thereís something to be said for that. Last time I was there I enjoyed Great Lakes Nosferatu and Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale. Often they have DFH 120 or WWS available. It seems like Ruination is always on tap. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Atmosphere is mostly college kids and a few beer snobs. This is my favorite bar.

MacGregorís is good for one thing, beer selection. Of course along with a ton of taps comes the need to clean the lines, something I feel they donít do regularly enough. The food is sub-par and overpriced. It was good many moons ago but the place has gone downhill in the wake of expansion. Service is god awful. Bartenders walk by you repeatedly and have trouble managing the bar (unless you know them). They are slow and often times you are sitting around waiting for a beer (unacceptable). Wait staff is not much better and of course they are subjected to the bartending delays as well. Itís loud, REAL loud. So you can expect to do a lot of yelling if you want a conversation. Of course turning up the stereo just escalates the problem. In general the prices are higher than average for the quality they present. I could accept some of the pricing if the service were better and the beer lines were cleaner but not for service they provide. I avoid it.

Huge tap selection, but if I was only drinking beer there I would try maybe three and move on. Great food (try the beef nachos), but there are other places to enjoy the football game that have big screens and not the little ones they hoist up in the corner. Props for the 100+ beers on tap though, and while most of that selection may not be memorable, MacGregors at least isnít offensive to beer culture. #12 on 12102009 DG.

I went to the one in Penfield/Webster...Selection was decent...the layout of the place was not bad. The bartender was a very nice fellow...it was pretty dead on the day I went, but shit...this was quasi-walking distance to where i grew up, too bad this place didnt exist and/or the drinking age wasnít 10 back in the day, or I would have hit this place up more often. Have or havenít been to the other location(s)...at least, i have no memory of them. Decent, but somewhat style-less and boring.

Beers were all in fine condition, though served a bit too cold by disinterested wait staff. Food is tasty but not at all matched to the beers--that would be nice. They had lots of big, interesting beers, though, which were great, several Imp Stouts and BWs served in little glasses. I would certainly go back whenever I had the chance and deal with the bad service.
Always something good on. Rare beers tend to be quite pricy for the size.

Iíve only been once, but I wasnít happy with any part of my experience. The huge draft selection was really just a bunch of beer from only a few breweries. Everything they offer is readily available in plenty of other places in town. Nothing unique, nothing to make me say WOW, Iíd love to try that one.Ē Food was of the pre-frozen deep fried variety. Nothing tasted as if it were actually made fresh on premises. The table staff knew nothing about beer at all. Clearly itís the kind of place that would be great if I were still in college and hadnít developed any discerning tastes, but thankfully I left that world behind a long time ago. Iím sure the nearby RIT kids will keep the place packed and successful for many years to come.
