Great place to eat something if you dont want to sit for hours and pay enormous amounts for the same. You have plates for 6 euros and the daily one is 8. The beers available are not very interesting for the average geek. Waitress wasnt too good, service behind bar was ok.

Quite large bar in a hard to find alley. Plenty of usual suspects (=Belgian styled) available, some Jopen. But not the interesting beers actually. Service was good looking, but quite stupid. Not really much knowledge about beer behind the bar either, but was friendly. Beer was almost thrown on the table (there was actually a bottle hurt when putting it on the table). Food was quite good and very cheap. Had the daily dish of 8 euro, which was a large plate of chicken, decent amount of side salad and some fries. Price/quality superb. Would definitely come here again to grab some food.

Mainly visited here to eat and was not disappointed. Beer list is modest and mainly Belgian with nothing of particular interest but plenty worth supping while you eat. Pleasant atmosphere. Not a beer detination in itself though.

A bit worn down cafe. A lot of beers but nothing out of the ordinary. Mediocre service and a bit of a dirty look to the cafe. Good food though.

More foody than a pure bar, but a competent if not inspired selection.

Leuk restaurant/bar, voor een schappelijk bedrag kun je hier lekker eten en drinken. Niet heel bijzonder maar wel een redelijke prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Qua bier vooral gericht op de Belgische en Nederlandse markt.

Fantastic bar with great Belgian-like atmosphere, very friendly service and a great selection of beers.

Great little cafe with mostly Belgian beers, although they have all the regular beers from T’Ij and most from Jopen. The food is excellent and the daily specials are great value. The artwork is disturbing especially the two zombies screaming at the robot. Highly recommended.

Ate here with a friend, on our way to the Jopenkerk. Good food for a very reasonable price. Quite good service. A fairly good selection of Belgian beers and also some local Jopen beers. A good experience

We called in here for a spot of dinner on our way back to the station on a day trip out from Amsterdam. It’s a typical small brown café with a dark wood ceiling and low lighting. It was quite busy, with some people eating at the scrubbed pine tables and others relaxing at the bar, presumably after a hard day at the office. Space was at a premium but we found a nice table at the back, close to the kitchen serving hatch. At some stage during our visit one of the bar staff came and moved a machine (it might have been a fridge) from just behind me and erected a little barrier with hazard signs around what turned out to be the hatch down into the cellar. The beer list wasn’t extensive but I see from my bill that we had the special tap – one of a range of guest beers that apparently change on a monthly basis. The food was very good – hearty and tasty, including the daily special (daghap), which was excellent value at E7.50. This was just the kind of place I’d had in mind to go to the night before when we ate at the Lieve in Amsterdam.
