The original Belgian beer & mussels place, part of the Stroobant group. No mention of special beers on their website, only AB InBev stuff. When you get there the beers appear available in indirect proportion to their excellence. No newer Belgian breweries at all. Seems to be succumbing to a commercial desire to become ordinary. Food is pre-prepared I suspect. My shrimp crevettes were as authentic as Gary Barlow singing La BohŤme.

I like the area, there is some life and itís not as chaotic as Clarke Quay (not far away); they donít have many of the beers listed on the menu, and they have noting exciting, but the presence of some Trappist is always good. This place is not for the beerhunter, but itís ok for a local who wants to enjoy a good solid beer.

good selection of good beers, but sadly overpriced and staffís not well trained to say much about the beer. food standardís dropped over the years, and itís not worth going anymore, you can find the same beers at better prices elsewhere.

Ambience: Well.. nothing really.
Service: Thereís a slightly older Belgian gentleman occasionally working the floor. This is the guy you need to get. Heís brilliant and obviously knows his beers. The rest of the lot are nice enough but donít know their beers well enough for a discerning ratebeerian ;-)
Selection: Best Belgian beer selection in Singapore (and probably most of SE-Asia). They have Mariage Parfait.
Food: Never been disappointed. Absolutely loved the sausage.
Value: Well, at SGD18 for 33cl of quite standard Belgian ales, this place is damn pricey. But again, this is Singapore.
Overall: An oasis of beer and a life saver.
