Was really looking forward to checking this place out. It was kind of packed when I stopped in, but I was able to snag a seat at the bar.
Apparently it was dome a 750 ml of Boulevard Harvest Dance by yourself night, because that seemed to be the weapon of choice for about 4-5 people right near me. Anyway, I opted for some less intense and more local options and got prompt and excellent service. They have a pretty decent draft list, but I think the bottles are the better option. The only issue I had was a lot of things were in 22oz/750ml sizes and I just didn’t want that much of any particular beer.
I enjoyed my stop here, but I wouldn’t say it was my favorite place in Salt Lake. Could have just been the crowdedness and the vibe from some of the people next to me, though. Still definitely worth a stop.

Located in the center of downtown, nice selection of beers and reasonable prices. Many local beers from Epic, Uinta and Squatters.

I enjoyed this place just to get a beer. They have a novel long bar of ice to set your beer on or just to play with the frost. Free wifi. Good selection, they will let you sample before you commit (others wouldn’t) Service was very good and quick. Standard bar like ambiance.

This is a great place. Great ambiance and ran by people who love beer and want to share that love with the people. Owner has written a awesome book on the history of beer in utah. A topic that is as fascinating as any you could discuss. Wood everywhere with old antiques from history of beer in this state just love the place.

A stand out for Utah and right in the heart of the new City Creek complex. Great beer selection with an ICED TRAY STRIP IN THE BAR! Ok, maybe somewhat common but the first time I’d seen it. For Utah, one plus is that you don’t have to order food to drink.

There’s a very slick and sophisticated feel to the place that is not the slightest off-putting due to the friendliness of the staff. Bars in Utah are subjected to the draconian liquor laws of Deseret, and the consumers literally pay the price. If you can see past that, the prices are understandable, and you shouldn’t be bothered by it. Unfortunately, it really can limit what the selection that is available. Despite the limitations, the Beerhive offers a very nice selection is a great atmosphere...what more would anyone want?

How is this not one of the top places in Utah?? Great atmosphere, location, and staff. I mean, everyone here knew what was going on, and there was a lot of local stuff on tap. My favorite place in SLC.

For Utah this is probably as good as it gets outside of Epic and Uinta breweries. As with all taps in Utah everything poured is below 4% ABV so if you love big beers you have to stick with bottles. The selection of bottles is good but dominated by a few breweries (local and Westcoast). German food was great. The ice trough is kinda cool but I like my beer to open up so I didn’t use it. Also, many of the bottles are 22oz so this place is better with a friend.
