Good place to get provisions for a week in Maine. Grabbed a 15-pack of All Day IPA, along with 10 bombers/750s of new rates. Not a bunch of new Maine ticks, but then again, Iíve had a lot of them. Seemed reasonably priced, but Iím not local enough to know prevailing rates.

Very decent spot. I asked specifically about the ID situation and they said to use an out-of-state ID you must be at least 25; so no issue there for me. The beer range is quite good. Impressive range of imports, many regional offerings and lots of the national brands you would want to see. Impressive range of meads. I thought the prices were very decent. Easy to find. Worth stopping by.

I stopped in here last week while working out of town. Iím a little surprised about the low ratings from previous reviewers, but then again I had no issues with my out of state ID because Iím a bit older. On forest st a bit out of the center of Portland a bit past the Bear with ample parking. Feels like an open warehouse with a row of cold beer coolers filling the back wall of the store. Macroís well yea they have them, but a huge focus on craft beer with a focus on Maine as usual. Off to the far right hand side of the store is a long warm isle with an incredible selection of craft beer. Respectable imported selection but more domestic with a focus on ME brews. Employee sent to straighten out the shelves said hi to me but never asked if she could assist me. Nice selection. decent prices, if I were in town again I wouldnít hesitate to stop in again.

On the outside, I thought well, they could work on that a bit. The inside seemed more of a grocery store as there were a wide amount of food selections as well as liquor. After I was shown where the warm beer aisle was, it impressed upon me that it just seemed odd that an advertised "liquor" store at the size that it was only had one little warm beer aisle. No worries there, the entire back wall made up for that as it was entirely cold beer and I think some of that maltish stuff with hard cider stuffed at the end. No one that worked there offered any help probably because my friend who took me there showed me everything. The cashier was friendly enough but didnít ask if I found everything. Once again, no worries there, because I did. The selection for the warm beer was pretty good, and I was impressed with the cold beer section as well. I was able to find a bunch of beers that Iíve been wanting that have been on my wants list. I didnít buy any food even though I saw a fair amount of it. The value seemed about average. I definitely would go back, mainly because of the selection.

This place has a warehouse-like atmosphere and the staff knows virtually nothing about beer. The gentleman who attempted to help me last time professed himself a "Miller man." That being said, they actually have a pretty good selection. Iíve even noticed that theyíve been getting a few more sours lately. Not bad at all. I almost always stop when in the area.

A little dusty a little rough around the edges but the selection is well worth the trip over to this place... unless that is you have an out of state license. It does not matter what you have for ID if it is not a Maine state ID it is not excepted... why I will never get. When I first moved to Maine I swore I would never shop at this place after being rejected several times once even bring a notarized both certificate and US passport ! Yes they are that strict even if you look like your 40. Anyhow, I now have a state ID and shop there when I feel like there is nothing new in the state to try. They usually have something that peaks my interest and I would highly recommend it to other Mainers out there with STATE IDís !
UPDATED 1/14: It is still a pain if you are from out of state but they do have the best prices around and donít have a higher mark up for the highly allocated items like some other spots.

Warehouse-like atmosphere. Prices are pretty good for the area, and every now and then they get something that surprises me, like Drie Fonteinen Scharbeekse Kriek. The service is friendly but not very knowledgeable about the product. I stop in fairly regularly to stock up on staples.

Came here at least twice during my time in Maine last summer. Very large selection or regional beers, maine beers, and other pretty nice imports. I picked up a (self made) 6 pack of Taras Boulba and I couldnít have been happier. So many other Maine beers and regionals I havenít seen since I lived in Amherst. Not to mention the extensive liquor and wine selection available. I so miss new england "packy" stores. NC needs to change their laws so I can open up a store like this. Maybe this isnít so special in new england, but for me itís a step up.

We stopped enough to see that it is not the best looking beer store youíve ever seen, but they certainly have a good selection of both imports and american micros. We went against the advice of fellow ratebeer place raters and filled a cart even though both of us are not ME residents and are not 25. Donít. They really are that severe on that dumb policy. We tried with passeports and three different IDs. They would not let us out of the store. If you are from out of state and under 25, forget it.
