Solid spot. Visited in the early afternoon on a Thursday and it was very quite. Friendly staff. Very decent beers - all German-styled. Tasty food. Good value. Small pours available. The place itself feels sort of like a bier hall, what with all the wood and high ceilings. Worth a visit if nearby.

Visited on a Thursday over lunchtime. Nice, medium sized german beer hall interior. There is also a nice biergarten outside. Food was pretty good, typical German fare offered. They had 8 beers available when we visited, which is a good number considering all the beers were German styles. All beers were solid. Cool German place!

Visited: 5-2-13 On a recent trip to Charlotte, my best friend wanted to show me all of the new breweries that had opened up over the past 18 months. A: Decent Looking place, they have a small outside deck but no chairs were outside, Inside offered plenty of picnic tables and wide open seating, with a bar that could seat about 4-6 people. German region flags hanging from the ceiling. Q: We had tried several of their offerings and they were really good. Keep in mind that Olde Meck offers strictly german style beers, but they were all solid and true to style. S: the place was about half full on a saturday afternoon and the bartenders were very attentive and quick to get your beers. S: For a place that offers only german style beers, they offered a great variety and had about 8 different taps going. V: Prices for a pint were reasonably priced, especially for the area and the quality of the beers. Overall, a great place to visit and I see that they have come a long way since they first opened up. Other than the Copper Ale, all of the beers were really good and recommended to anyone who loves german beers.

Big airy feel, wood tables set up for a beer hall atmosphere. Had 5 beers on tap, all German styles. All the beers were delicious and the food was pretty good too. Great service, fair prices and right by the airport, which makes it the perfect place to kill a few hours before a flight. I love German style beers and this place was heaven in NC.

An old factory off South BLVD transformed into a German style ale house. You can take a tour or just drink. I thought the girls severing increased the ambiance.

This was January of 2011 so things could have changed since. Location off of South Blvd., fairly easy to find. Patio & deck outside, but wasn’t being used due to rain. Inside was like a great beer hall you’d find in Germany, high ceilings, one large room, lots of picnic tables lined up in rows, round chandeliers, some standing room by the bar. A flight was $2, but they only have 3 beers. Overall the service was great & welcoming. Food was average, all they have is brat in a bun with saurkraut or a bratwurst platter. I know what they are doing here, keeping it simple and remeniscent of traditional German beer halls, but unless that beer hall is jamb packed full of people, it feels REALLY empty. I went on a Friday night between 8-10pm too. But taking a step back it’s probably the biggest tap room I’ve been too and could see it being pretty vibrant with lots of groups. With no bar stools it makes it impossible to sit and talk ’beer talk’ to the servers and it just lacked the same passion other breweries have for craft beer. The servers know about the beer, but not lacked a bit of the technical explanations that you’d maybe get at other breweries. Also they only serve/brew 2 beers year-round, plus 1 seasonal. And no other options. So 3 beer choices and 2 food choices. Just felt too limited to "keep people coming back". Again to be fair though this place is just getting started and relatively new. I’m glad Charlotte finally has a real brewery, but their selection of only Altbier & Helles Lager is too limited. To some degree you need to brew a little wider variety or brew the best Altbier or Helles Lager in the world to keep people coming back to drink the beer. This place does neither. Glad I tried it though.

In an industrial area, thid place is a large warehouse where you can eatch the brewer st work while sitting atbiergarten style picnic tables. Food is wurst. Only three beers, decent but unexciting.

This was big day to visit while the Euopean cup was played in Munich, Germany. We were amazed by the crowd. The service was pleasant and very helpful. The beers are have a German style about them. Outland cigars are available.. The crowd was into the game. There was a home brewing tasting in the morning. Limited menu but worth a try. German regional flags were in the ceiling. I will be back.

Originally reviewed: 9/24/10. Tried to stop by here before earlier, and it was closed. Tried one more time on my way out of town and they were open. Weird location, sort of in a back industrial area. Off the beaten path for sure. Nice little "beer garden" out front with some patio tables. Inside is wide open. Everything is wood and it looks cool. No real decor noted. The bar is in the back area with a large-paned window showing the actual brewery behind. One girl was working the bar. Very friendly and helpful. They only had 3 beers on tap, Copper, Kolsch, and their Mecktoberfest, which is what I was there for. I’ve heard good things, so I wanted to try it. They are really an inexpensive brewpub for sure. You can order a 1/2 pint, pint, or large mug of their beers. All reasonably priced. Growlers come in 2 sizes and are pretty cheap as well. Not a bad place. Glad I stopped. Their Meck’fest was excellent!

A nice, large space in Charlotte, just outside the downtown area. It has an authentic German hall feel with lots of long wooden tables. There is quite a large capacity and high ceilings. There are 3 beers on tap, 2 regulars and 1 seasonal (all German styles of course). All good beers, high quality stuff. There are a few German food offerings- I got a bratwurst plate which was quite tasty! This was a fun place to visit. Unfortunately they have a limited tap selection and only 1 rotating offering. Still, I think it is worth a visit because the beers are quite good and it has a nice ambiance.
