I stopped for two reasons, it was directly on my path back the hotel, and it is in the database. Souvenier shop first and foremost. Beer, such as it is, is scattered about a bit, but all in all adds up t about what you might expect to find at a 7-11. Technically it does sell craft beer, so I guess it stays, but really?

This is a large store that carries just about everything, except good beer. The shelves change directions in a few places so you end up aimlessly wandering around trying to find all the little deposits of beer. There are half a dozen fridges on one side of the store with beer in them and then several random shelves around the store with more beer on them. The stuff in the fridges is mostly macro junk with a few other things mixed in like some Sweetwater and Sam Adams. Lots of great stuff to be found here (sarcasm) like: Heineken, Dos Equis regular and dark, Coranoa Extra, Goose Island 312, Bud Light Chelada, and Coors Light. On one of the shelves I found 12-packs of Abita and Sam Adams.
The only thing purchased here was a praline, as I was instructed to try one. Next door is this:

I agree with 3fourthsí review. Kind of puzzling why this is listed at all really, given that it is simply a touristy convenience store. I suppose it may carry a few mor local brews than the next store, but really there is perhaps two dozen choices here at most, the rest is macro swill. Pop in if youíre walking by, but not worth seeking out.

massive convenience store for shit snacks, bottles to drink on the street and all the tacky NOLA / margi gras beads and chinese-made junk you could want. singles in the cooler are around $2.50 after tax. steep but theyíre on Canal Street and get a lot of to-go street drinkers, and itís still cheaper than bar beer. Abite singles and bombers plus NOLA blonde in cans and a couple of Lazy Magnolia products. Score of 40 is pretty poor, but I came here often to get beer to drink while walking, so itís not like I hated the store, itís good for what it is but itís no beer destination by any means.

Basically a quick mart/souvinir shop with everything that goes with that. Stopped in for some Rolaids and discovered that they had a couple of local brews that I havenít seen elsewhere in our fairly aggressive search here in the last few days: LA 31 Pale Ale.
