Ragtag is kind of an interesting location in Columbia to grab a beer. It is an independent movie theater with a couple of movie screens, a bakery, and a bar all together. The beer selection is interesting too. They will get in some really cool beers that most places in Columbia won’t put on tap (The Beast, Saison DuPont, Delirium Tremens, etc.), but they only have around 6 beers on tap, so not a huge selection. It is nice that you can buy a great beer and take it into the theater and enjoy while watching a indie movie. But I never really felt like hanging out here, if I wasn’t there to see a movie. The weekends can get quite busy, and it was always took awhile to get a beer.

As someone who loves exotic brews that are rare to find, Ragtag does a good job of having some bottles that no where else gets. Not only do the taps rotate often and with great brews, but the selection of bottles is also impressive although not that wide. Also, the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable about beer, so great conversations about brews happen on a nightly basis. The food’s great too, for it’s all made in-house. All-in-all, I love drinking beer here.

Great place to grab some food and take a great beer into a movie. Usually 7 beers of a variety of styles. Excellent bakery also.

Surprising beer selection at the bar, with strength in Missouri craft beers. Most of Boulevard’s Smokestack Series was available when I was here. Not a beer geek destination... just a geek destination with good beer. And flicks. And pastries. And coffee.
