minimal beer list even for a grocery, not worth a stop with other options in the area

Fresh Market always carries a good variety of beer that is under 6% (because in TN you canít get that beer in the liquor stores/beer stores). Only problem is they arenít here to help you pick your beer. Know what you want. They let you mix and match.

This is a very nice store. Itís a bit more upscale than most of the Whole Foods Iíve been to, and their beer selection is definitely better than the Memphis Whole Foods. Iíve never asked for help with the beer, so I donít know how knowledgeable the staff are, but all of the workers have been friendly when Iíve gone.

The selection is somewhat limited due to TNís beer laws (over 6% ABV has to be sold in a liquor store), but the selection and price are fairly good for this area. Theyíve got a number of Samuel Smithís and Rogue beers in large bottles, and their custom six pack has a pretty good, if a little boring, selection of Sierra Nevadas, Harpoon and other larger microbrews. Theyíve also got a decent number of Euro-lagers (Urquell, Budvar, Birra Moretti, etc). Their seasonals are usually limited to a few different Sierra Nevadas and the like.

They rarely rotate the stock. So, after a few visits, it does stagnate and become a bit boring. Still, itís a fairly decent place to shop and get some of the more popular craft/imports out there.
