GO here in the summer.
Building has an awesome exterior made for beautiful Oregon summers. Beers are all excellent have about 8-10 taps of their own brews. Interior ambiance is pretty dismal, lots of echoing not much to view. Went here for their Safe Word!
Staff is awesome
Beer is awesome
Food is awesome
One of the best breweries in Portland! If you like excellent beer and great food this is the place for you.

This location is only slightly out of the way, but it doesnít take much to get there from downtown, as a point of reference. The ambiance is your standard brewpub. Thereís nothing exciting going on here as far as looks are concerned. However, where they win in the beer and the service. Iíve had a couple of duds from Breakside, but most of their beers are awesome. Their Breakside IPA absolutely delicious. Their Passionfruit Sour is phenomenal. The food here is decent - nothing great, but nothing even remotely close to bad. Iíve always had spectacular service while here. The waits on a busy Friday night can be harsh, as a few family-type folks flock here, as they are kid friendly. All in all, itís a great place, and you should definitely make the visit, but if youíre visiting from out of town, donít spend too much time here.

I like this place a lot. Family friendly with tasty food and a good selection of great beer. Getís a little too busy at times and the service can lack because of it. Recommended.

Restaurant area, bar area and patio all which get really busy. Service is good but again really busy so no real time to spend on us. Selection is good with some weird beers just on tap. Tasters available. A bit out of the way, but if you like their beers a good stop.

Though their selection is not huge I gavie it a 5 because they have a great selection of their own excellent beer.
Wold Class beer served up in an establishment with a neighborhood feel.
Value: For what you get their beers are an extreme value. For $4 a bomber or $12/ 64 oz Growler you can take home the American IPA that beat out over 275 for the gold at the 2104 GABF. That is by far the most competitive category at the worlds largest double blind competition.
Food: Havenít tried it, but it looks good. The pizza place in the same building has Portlandís best calzones.

Cool location in north down town. Good food. Friendly vibe. More of a restaurant first and brewpub second.

A nice inviting place. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their beer. All of the beer I had during this visit was above average.

Visited Breakside around 3.30pm on 25/05/13 (Saturday), final stop on an early PDX crawl prior to a tasting event at a friends house.
The place was fairly busy and there were no spaces on the bench seats outside (sun was out) although we managed to bag a table of 8 inside where there was still a bit of room.
A dozen taps offering up 11 of their own beers plus a cider from someone else. Sampler available.
Good range of styles including a Flemish sour, an Alt, a BA number, a CDA as well as the usual suspects. Beers were decent too, just totted up the aveage of the 11 and it comes in at a healthy 3.38!
Service was fine if a little scatty.
Iíd definately take Breakside in on a crawl, solid house beers and a good variety of styles.

Great place. Very large with a long bar and loads of seating. Friendly and unpretentious. Had loads of taps and one guest cider. Good service and very knowledgeable staff. The prices were great as well.
