A little too trendy for my tastes but with a great beer selection favoring local breweries.

I have been here before to drink before events at the Verizon center but never really thought much of it. Then we had a work party downstairs and i got a look at their beer selection and cask selection. Cask was only Legend stuff which was disappointing but they made a good effort on their tap list. I would still go to R.F.D. though for beer. This place has a little more amiance as bar games and jukebox and such

Bar specializing in craft beers; no food. Host frequent tap takeovers, including both regional and distant brewers. No frills, gets crowded, but great happy hour spot.

I didnít really know this place existed until earlier this week. I had seen the name, but didnít know where it was or anything about it. Tonight was the first time I had been there. Tucked in the Chinatown area of DC.
The place was busy during happy hour, but we were able to find seats at the downstairs bar. The place filled up quite a bit. Tap list isnít super-rare but the beers they had were a nice eclectic array of different beers from breweries around the country (and world). Prices were perhaps a bit high but not outrageous for downtown DC. Happy hour had $2 off draft pours. Clientele is so-so, place appears to be quite busy. I could see myself returning here if Iím in the area.

A solid place to just grab some drinks, they have mostly non-rarer craft beers, occasionally have something like Founders Breakfast Stout, but place is noisy and fratish, especially downstairs. Not a bad stop but not a necessary one in DC.

Head downstairs, if you can, thatís the best bit - much more bar space, and an overflow bar that opens when itís busy. Same tap and bottle list upstairs and down, plus you get to watch or play shuffleboard. Beer is average with a couple of surprises. Prices are good.

This bar is very underrated. The tap list if more than decent and gets Firestone Walker beers on tap as well as whatever the DC distributors are bringing into Paradiso and Big Hunt, et al. The prices here are pretty cheap comparatively and Happy Hour is a pretty good deal. BMC crap is $5 a pint, but something like Founders Breakfast Stout is $6 a snifter. No brainer to me. Downstairs is some insane skee ball and pool madness playground with another small bar with a syndicated tap selection. Very fun place and definitely worth checking out. Overall, a better place to have beer in the Chinatown area than RFD as their tap are clean and their beer poured properly. But RFD gets random oddball crap sometimes so you have to bite the bullet and sometimes go there. Iron Horse, though, Iíd happily go to any day of the week.

A nice happy hour spot in the Chinatown area. They have a solid tap list and itís $2 off at happy hour. They allow you to bring your own food in, which is nice. Shuffleboard and skeeball. Definitely worth checking out if you are in that area and donít feel like tackling the monster that is the RFD bottle list.

A new, trendy sports bar down in the Gallery Place area. For those familiar with DC bars, itís very similar to Rocket BAr just a couple of blocks north.
A smalll-decent sized ground-floor level with a bar that was pretty empty (happy hour crowd is about it upstairs) and a BIG downstairs with shuffleboard, skeeball, video games, etc. Sounds more like a ífuní bar than a beet bar, but there are 20 taps that include VAís Star Hill, Goose Island, Great Lakes, Dogfish, Victory, etc.
Iíd recommend this place if you want an alternative to RFD around the Verizon Center or if your friends donít want to do a íbeerí bar.
