Nice little brewpub in downtown Newark, DE. First location Iíve visited of the chain. Standard brewpub appearance with a decent sized bar and plenty of tables. Pretty nice selection of their beers on tap and one cask. Beers were mostly above average with a couple stand outs. Food was good with a variety of things to choose from. 4 ounce taster pours are available individually for $1.50 or as part of a sampler set. Good value and service. There are a few pay-to-park lots with free validation available from Iron Hill for up to 90 minutes. Could definitely see myself coming back whenever Iím in that area of Delaware.

Modern brewpub on Newarkís old Main Street, lots of interesting places nearby. Decent food, beers were above average for rhe chain. Very young crew, all enthusiastic. Donít forget to ask for the bottle list.

Been coming for years why not time for a review..right on main st..can be quite crowded during peak college season..seasonal offerings are usually best bet as house standards are just so so..pig iron is best of the standards..king kong 2 ipa was the best seasonal i have ever had here..food is usually spot on..innovative pub fare..fresh and flavorful..nice that they give aha discount on food and beer..

This is probably my least favorite iron hill of those ive been to. I didnt like the layout of the bar/dining area and the service was a bit slow at the bar given how slow it was on a monday afternoon. Food was good and beer was decent though the seasonals were just ok. As always, bottle prices are high.

Located on the main drag of Newark near the Universityof Delaware campus. Itís one of the smaller of the Iron Hill Brewpubs but, perhaps, the one that feels most like a neighborhood pub. We found parking on the street and there are parking lots nearby. Itís the one that started it all so thereís lots of dark wood, brushed steel, and mood lighting. They had their standard 5 beers plus 5 seasonals. The beers tend to be solid but rarely spectacular. The food is usually very good. Unfortunately the pizza oven was broken but they have a wideranging menu and the chicken Caesar salad was tasty. I donít know if itís a destination place but itís worth a stop if youíre already at state line liquors.

A nice Iron Hill brewpub in downtown Newark. It had the standard 5 Iron Hill taps plus a lot of seasonals (I think around 5, plus the seasonal belgian and something else). I had a delicious winter warmer and seasonal IPA. This is my 3rd Iron Hill location and it is on par with the others (Wilmington and Lancaster). Perhaps a slightly cozier atmosphere and better lit. Slightly on the pricy side, but standard Iron Hill pricing. Another great Iron Hill!

Upon entering you are greeted with a choice of two sides. To the left you have the bar area and the brewing setup. To the right is the dining room. The atmosphere is pretty good. Like the other Iron Hill locations they have a nice big bar, a few TVís, and a bunch of seating behind you. The quality is good, just like all the other locations. Their beer is top notch and the food is even better, tho I did not try any this time because we had just eaten. The prices were pretty reasonable for what you get, I would like to see a few of the beer prices reduced but that isnít a huge deal.
The service was pretty good. The bartender was pretty knowledgeable and prompt. The selection was decent. I would have liked to see a few more specialtyís and a few less year rounders. They had one cask offering but it wasnít anything special. I got a pumpkin and it was pretty good but nowhere near the best I have had.
Overall yet another quality Iron Hill location. Next time I am in the area I may have to stop here again.

A worthy stop if you are in the neighborhood. It is nice to visit the first Iron Hill location, though they do not carry as many beers as other locations. The place is well decorated. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food was really good - I had the beer onion and bacon flatbread with gruyere. Good prices.

Iíve been here a dozen times or more, and make a lot of midday trips on weekends or days off. Despite being in a college town, itís not a very young crowd most of the time, which is welcome. Hit or miss beers, though usually solid, are not often outstanding. The bartenders seem harried, even though there are usually more than one and the place isnít that large. Theyíre less likely to give you the lowdown on the available beer, and I often even have to ask for a beer list. As with the other Iron Hills, the food is decent and the menu offers a decent vegetarian selection. Prices are on the high side for food and beer. Since the remodel, the place always smells like BBQ, and I like that. Outside seating is available, but is abused by the hot sun on most days youíd want to be out there. Parking in Newark sucks and the meters are expensive and annoying.
