Visited on Sunday 28/09/14 around 1pm and the place was doing a good trade.
Smallish bottle shop effectively split over 3 levels. The entrance level is the service area with a fridge or two, the lower level is geueze and sours (plenty of Cantillons etc) and the upper level carries the bulk of the beer which is well laid out by country.
Lots of Dutch beer as you’d imagine, a good shelf worth of Mikkeller, a good selection of UK and US beers, etc etc.
Service was friendly and help proffered if required. The individual beers are also well labelled in respect to style etc.
Prices seemed pretty fair.
A world class bottle shop!

If you’re visiting Amsterdam, make sure to bring some hard-to-find craft beer from your hometown with you - De Bierkoning will make some great trades with you! They are always more than fair, and you will get some amazing European beer out of the deal. The staff is super helpful, and their selection is unrivaled in all of the Netherlands. The place looks like an old bookstore, but instead of rare books, their shelves are filled with rare beers!

The shop looks small on the outside, but great bottle collection once you enter. I was able to find a bunch of the De Molen beers I was looking for.
As well, fantastic glass collection for sale. I will definitely return and purchase for here again.

Amazing bottle shop, by far the best I’ve ever been to! Pretty narrow inside, because beer bottles just everywhere. Especially the selection for USA, Belgium, Netherlands and Mikkeller is remarkable. Some rare stuff, always pretty fresh and mostly reasonably priced! There is also a seperate corner in the basement with an extensive Lambic selection. Overall, this isn’t just recommended, this is a must visit!

Good selection of European and US beers. Prices are average I guess, similar to the European webshops. Service was friendly and I even got to chat with the owner who knew Swedish.

Visited in 2013. Small store but it holds a very wide selection of great beer. The store keeper was very friendly and I ended up chatting about beer with him for a while. Definitely worth a visit.

Great medium sized beer shop in central A’dam. It’s located close to the Dam place and Nationaal Monument, the Paleisstraat starts here, but no. 125 is much closer than expected. For a foreigner the Dutch section was just amazing with lots of bottles from breweries I haven’t heard of. There are two levels and rather narrow space between the shelves. Friendly service with a guy who was very helpful when I asked for three recommendations. He came up with bottles from Duits & Lauret, De Vriendschap and Butcher’s Tears. Buxton beers on display at window exhibition. Informative, open Facebook site, well worth checking out for new arrivals (visited 21.07.2014).

Visited several times since 2008. More than 1000 craft beers, friendly and knowledgable staff, central location...This place is amazing! Probably the best beershop in the world.

Nice store, a bit surprised how they can keep so many beers in such a small place. Staff is helpful, selection is probably the best in NL, they have some very rare beers, but I think it could be even better if they had a bigger place. They should have more German, British, eastern european, nordic and american beers. Shelves were not totally filled up, but I visited them on a Saturday afternoon, so I understand it. Prices are a bit higher than some other competitors, but I also understand it as it’s in the center of A’dam. The biggest cons is that I couldn’t find all the prices under to the bottles. Probably because they change their stock very often.
