54 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 12/20
Review updated June 2, 2013: AMBIENCE - It is a grocery store, but honestly, I’ve been in beer stores with less atmosphere. SERVICE - No beer-centric service to speak of, but not really needed. SELECTION - There’s some hometown bias here as I am in here 2-3 times a week. For a grocery in a relatively small town, they have an amazing selection. Most NC breweries and many others like Southern Tier, Flying Dog, Victory, Magic Hat, New Belgium, Full Sail, Green Flash, Stone, Heavy Seas, Great Lakes, Brooklyn, Oskar Blues, Terrapin, and Sweetwater. A whole endcap cooler full of bombers, belgians, 4-packs, etc. FOOD - Deli/Bakery is solid if you need it. Fried chicken and mac and cheese. VALUE - In spades. They get some great 4-packs that sell for a fraction of the cost in the rest of the country. Consistent, great sales on sixers and bombers, and normal prices are just that - normal. OVERALL - In my opinion, this is the best stop on the interstate between RDU and Greensboro. Biased, yes, but if someone can find another place around here with better selection I’d love to know about it.
