Been a bunch of times and always enjoy visiting. Once you show your ID to the door person, you get 4 tickets good for a beer sample each. Around 1-2 oz per sample. They arenít able to serve pints yet, but Red Apron at Union Market is a short drive and usually has DC Brau if youíre looking to enjoy a glass. Prices are reasonable for growler fills and canned selections. Bunch of merchandise including glasses, shirts, hats, growlers. Usually a food truck outside for growler hours. Pretty easy to get canned Wings here. Iíve only driven as metro is quite a long walk. Ample parking, place can be easy to miss as thereís no signage out front of the shopping strip. Just drive down the alley to the right of the post office.

Very interesting tour. Was there shortly before the first tour at 1300. Not overly crowded and time for questions. Four free beers afterwards.
Things got a lot more crowded when people shoved up for the next tours, and we were still hanging out by the bar.
They make really nice brews like the Penn Quarter Porter and OTWOA. Last one was not on tap but was served as a courtesy for my long travel there:-)
Bought a six-pack and had a nice afternoon.
How can you rate a place like this? I would gladly go back, but off course the selection is not huge.

To be fair, DC Brau is a brewery, not a brewpub. Its still a fun place to visit, and if you like Ska music and beer together, they can put on a great party.

Really wierd location, in the hood behind a Post office on the lower floor. Cool vibe, very metal/punk thing going on with graffiti everywhere! 4 free samples once you get in the door and they had OTWOA in cans as well. Can get crowded at times, but for Dcís only brewery, thats to be expected. Very cool place but hard to get to if you want to take public transport.

DC Brau is a fun but quite crowded tap room just inside the Districtís borders. The crew make your visit as enjoyable as possible despite the masses, and the food vendor du jour is worth the patronage. Treat yourself to a visit on any fine Saturday afternoon.

Went at Noon when it opened on a saturday after OTWOA Release, they still had half a pallet so i picked up 2 6ers, the lines for buying everything are right as you walk in, so its crowed at first.. 4 free samples which pour in the front and back.. cool brewery. to find it you have to drive through a white shopping center and parking is in the back.

I inadvertently showed up the day of the Armageddon can release so it was really packed. Decent space and employees were all friendly. Decent selection. Some solid collabs. Will have to go back on a normal Saturday and take a tour.

Checked this place out yesterday (1/19/13). Very hidden, in a alley behind a post office. Inside struck me as almost "college like", graffiti art adorned the place with sitting tables placed around. Very open. Busy place that day, tour came with 4 free samples. Tour itself was straight forward. Learned that they will be expanding distribution to MD early 2013 so good news for me. Left with some 6 packs, a bomber and a t-shirt. Enjoyed the visit, I wish them the best!

Visited the Saturday after Thanksgiving and there was a comfortable crowd of cooler DC people. For a brewery this place had a good really good vibe. Just the right amount and kind of attitude. And most importantly their beer rocks. Definitely one of the best newer small breweries on the East Coast. I wish they had more options pouring though. The flagship stuff was well priced. The specials were expensive...but that goes with the territory. Awesome brewery.

Yes you can go here to try the beer thatís on tap, then get growler fills, but they were only filling/tapping 4 different beers, 3 of which were their core series. So really only one beer of interest on tap. DC Brau cans and bottles their core series, so I donít see the need to get growler fills on those. Crowded for tours, a lot of people here and Iím trying to find out why. Only open on Saturday for 3 hours, so call ahead to see if anything of interest in available. There is nothing nearby to stay occupied so it is quite the journey for only one special beer on tap. Ambiance inside is cramped, loud. Plus side is that DC Brau is very popular and makes good beer, and Iím happy to see it is expanding and will probably last awhile. Sadly, I do not think the same thing for 3 Stars and Chocolate City.
