Ok place if in the area, but nothing particularly special here. There were a few taps, all of them Delerium for Belgian Independence. A few more Belgian bottles. Quite expensive. I hear food is good but I just popped in for a quick drink. Nice patio, but inside doesnít have a lot of character. Service was good.

When I visited: Late September 2014.
What I had: ďVlaamse StoveruĒ Flemish beef stew and a pint of Ommegang Abbey Ale for me, Kip Gevulde Pita sandwich with side salad and a glass of sauvignon blanc for my fiancť.
What I liked: Beautiful view and atmosphere on the outdoor patio, no trouble finding seats at lunch, delectable and authentic Belgian fare, everything arrived to the table in reasonable time, was happy to find the Abbey Ale after seeking it out for years, we enjoyed our food and drinks.
What I disliked: Nothing on tap that caught my attention, prices are high (though the quality is there), server was quite cold even after we tried to engage him in conversation, neighbourhood seems a bit sketchy - especially around the subway - so I donít think weíd come here at night.
Would I go back? Possibly.

Nice place in Eastern Market. Looks like most other restaraunts in the area with a handful of tables out front and a long, narrow dining area inside. Naturally, the beer offerings favored Belgian beers and there were some good ones on tap that arenít the ones you tend to see everywhere. Service and the little bit of food we had was great. A little pricey and upscale for my taste and not some place Iíd go if all I wanted was a beer. That said, if youíre looking for a good meal paired with good beers, this could be the place for you.

This is a happening place in Capitol Hill despite Congress being on recess. There is a small but comfortable patio out front and a clean dining room inside. The beers are primarily Belgian but they do serve American Belgian style beers. The food was very good though we only had one plate, a crab waffle appetizer. The menu was very inviting and the beer list complimentary, including an unusually large selection of 1.5 and 3L bottles.

Went there some time ago - place is a small cafe-style place. Spring and Fall are the best times to go, as you can sit outside. Beer selection was good, prices were okay for being smack-dab downtown.
Server attitude was a bit disconcerting. It was just after 4pm and my friends just wanted a few drinks and orders of frites. The place was mostly empty, and there were only two other tables full (at least outside), so the snooty attitude that was given to us for just wanting beers and frites in the middle of the afternoon was a little uncalled for. Other than that - it was good. Iíve never made it there for a full meal. Maybe someday.

We went to Belga for lunch on a Monday morning and the place was perhaps surprisingly almost empty. It had more of an upscale feel than we would have expected from the outside, especially considering the ridiculously hot and humid weather. The select few Belgian taps contained a well thought-out selection and the Belgian cuisine was pretty good, pricey, but well executed and with nice touches. The fries were excellent in the genre, the carbonade, melting and the appetizers, really well presented. Lower prices would have been appreciated, but I guess those are rare in DC. The bottle list seemed a bit longer than the 30 pop presented here, but indeed is not all that huge. Still, it covers the basics and meets your expectations when entering such a place. Itís just that as a beer traveler, it does not have anything you would associate with DC, the city you were visiting in the first place and besides the upscale feel, is not all that distinguishable from similar Belgian restaurants from any city of the world with a relatively good bottle list. It seems to be very popular though as the first time we came on Sunday for Brunch, the wait time was over an hour.

For brunch. Crazy busy, awesome vibrant feel in more laid-back area of DC, brick-walled. Decent menu, decent drinks (Napoleon Mimosa was nice), nothing too impressive. Service a bit rushed and pushy, and the prices are definitely high, but enjoyable. Definitely intrigued enough to head back and put them through their paces.

Moule, pomme frites, and glasses of Hommel Bier and Saison Dupont under an umbrella on a sunny day are hard to beat.

A great little neighborhood restaurant featuring Belgian cuisine and Belgian-style beers. Good selection of Belgians and US East Coast Belgian-style beer. Food is great, if you like Belgian. Service is sometimes better than others: never bad but some servers know their beer and food better than do others. I stop in every time Iím in DC on business (a few times a year). Never had to wait for a table, never seen a line, maybe because Iím generally there weekdays.
