80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20
Visited here once and really loved the place. Hidden in a complex with lots of parking lots is what I remember most. But its a new place and nicely designed. Cool wall menu with the beer bottles, a specialty beer list and taps with all different sizes. the selection was varied and interesting. Nothing mind blowing rare but plenty of beers I wanted to try. I loved the food menu. It has standard stuff and some more adventurous food, I went for the adventure. I want to visit again.

When it opened and took over the old Hemingwayís spot, it was a solid spot for good food (house made pretzel rolls!) and a solid beer list. Now it looks even better. Far from downtown, but worth stop.

Ate lunch here on the way from StL. to KC. Not a huge tap selection, but well chosen. Overall beer list was interesting. They had a cellar selection section on the menu of harder to find bottles. Food was solid. Prices were good. Server seemed to know about beer. Definitely worth a visit.

Where do I start with 44 Stone? As soon as you walk in the doors, you know you are in the care of people who care about what you are about to put in your mouth, whether that be beer or food. The aromas of fresh ingredients cooking is delectable and instantly makes you want to try any of the tasty dishes, which can be pricey although completely worth the money. The roast chicken I had and the bangers and mash my boyfriend had were both very, very delicious; furthermore, the fries and flourless chocolate cake were done extremely well despite the simplicity of the dishes. There are 12 taps that rotate very frequently and that always have some of the best beers around: Stone, North Coast, Firestone Walker, Founderís, Southern Tier, Ommegang, Belgian brews, and tons of local breweries that pride themselves on artisan and real ales. On top of this, the bottles selection is almost enough to make you think there are too many options. Additionally, everyone there knows about the beers on tap, for the manager makes even the waitresses sample the beers in order for them to inform the customers as to what will be the best for their tastes. Even more, the bartenders are very friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.

44 Stone is more of a restaurant than a beer bar. They have very good food, although it can be a little pricey. There are 12 beers on tap and probably 50 bottles listed. Even though the number of taps isnít that big, they usually have some good beers - Founders, Stone, Avery (The Beast), Green Flash, etc. It also seems like the taps rotate pretty frequently, because every time I go, they quite a few different beers than the time before. 44 Stone is located a couple miles from downtown, so it isnít right in the heart of Columbia.

Excellent food, constantly changing draft selection with only the best and most interesting beers, casual atmosphere with an upscale approach. I highly reccomend it. They had Avery The Beast and Founders Backwoods Bastard on draught, for peatís sake! Try 44 Stone, youíll like it.
