Many taps, friendly bar on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime. A number of decent crafts on, good service despite lower staff.

A: The place is decent inside with a long bar and plenty of tables around it. It has the feel of a eatery more than beer bar (the place use to be a Hooters).
Q: They have a wide array of beer from local to across the US and some internationals. They had some really nice selections tonight that you dont see at all in the area or very rarely. ST Oaked Pumking, ST Bernardus Xmas, Firestone Double Jack, but also had a lot of local commons too.
S: The two bartenders I spoke with were decent, one really knowledgeable about craft beer and the beers they had and the other was pleasant but definitely not a beer nerd. They were attentive instantly when our glasses went empty.
S: They offer 85 tap to choose from and have a beer menu that is broken down by different style (porter, ales, seasonals, etc) and offered some singles but also 5 Southern Tiers, 5 DFHs, 3 Blue Points, etc.
F: Their food is average but they do chicken wings (not buffalo wings...buffalos didnt have wings) well and offer a good variety of sauces.
The prices of the food is about average for the area and their beer prices are reasonable, between 4-5 bucks per beer (some beers are smaller due to their rarity).
Overall, you wont come here for a rarity but they do offer a solid variety for the new, average, beer snob. McGregors is a rochester based bar chain with 4 locations around the greater Rochester area and this location in Amherst.

82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20
The place doesnít look like much, inside or out, but the food is good, the service is attentive, and there are a crapload of taps. Some of the taps are pouring crap, but the variety is good, and the prices are very good. There are some solid beers, and they seem to rotate regularly. Iíll be back.

Lots of draft lines & lots of TVís. Neighborhood of 70 lines, 5 or 6 DFH, some stone, abita, Great Lakes, Southern Tier. A couple of Belgians DT for one. Lots of flagship beers. Bottle list was i believe all Macros as were about 5-8 lines. Firestone Double Jack was nice. Reasonable prices, fair atmosphere. Didnt eat but there is food. Good spot to have a decemt beer & watch the games.

The new Buffalo area MacGregorís is a long, somewhat narrow room dominated by flatscreen TVs (I counted how many but have forgotten - lets just say LOTS. Certainly over 20). Overall the place is new & clean. Service was OK on the afternoon I went there, but a bit slow for how empty the place was. The beer selection is solid - nothing crazy on tap but lots of great things to choose from. I didnít look at (or wasnít given?) a bottle list so I canít speak to their non-draft offerings. Food was a bit meh - my Ruben was nice but very salty, my fatherís burger was overcooked. Beer was fresh & in good shape, served in dimpled 20oz mugs. Its a place to go if you find yourself in the area but lacks the atmosphere of the Main St. Pizza plant that is only a few miles away. Still, a good option to have when youíre in that neighborhood and a boon to UB students looking for quality beer without the smokiness of Alternative Brews.
