A handsome old building with big arched windows and a bouncer on the door, even though it wasnít at all busy. There were sixteen taps and the service was acceptable but a bit off hand. (Visited 8 November 2012).

Big, room place right in downtown. Long bar with big seating area. Good service. Good food (loved the lamb burger sliders). Beer selection is interesting though. Seemed to be hit or miss. Ninkasi was prominently represented. Some other local brews, but mostly taps from around the country. They did have one keg of Hills Farmstead though.

Stopped in while wife and child visited family since Iím a tad familied out. Beautiful building and nice wood interior. Music is loud but since by myself not problem no conversing and i dug the song selection. Pretty empty while I was there with very friendly bartender but I am the off hour king although 5 on Saturday is prime drinking time for me. Selection was decent had three versions of bourbon county on while I was there. Definitely worth a stop.

CBH is fun to visit once in a while, but only if you go at the exact right time. Usually, it is extremely crowded in here, especially if youíre dumb enough to go right before or right after an event at the Times Union Center.

Thereís three floors: The main floor is a pretty typical bar/restaurant. The second floor only opens late at night and has a western/saloon theme to it and the bar only pours liquor. Thereís a "speakeasy" in the basement which lives up to its name. You have to call ahead, make a reservation, dress up and hope they let you in. That floor should have its own separate entry on ratebeer.

Even though the bar itself is pretty standard, the food menu is off-best, hipster-ish gastropub fare. Yeah you can get a burger or pulled pork, but itís high quality stuff and youíll pay a premium for it. Whatís nice is that for every draft beer you order you get a ticket for a free flatbread pizza. You go in the back and tell them how many and they make it while you wait (sometimes thereís already pies ready). Fold it in half and you basically have a pizza quesadilla. They also do "wild game" beer dinners, which are always top notch. Iíve been to 3 or 4 of them and theyíve always been amazing.

Beer menu is solid. Youíll see low-end stuff like Brooklyn or Sam Adams, and kinda high end stuff like Southern Tier or Evil twin or Ommegang. All drafts come in a variety of pour sizes and theyíll do growler fills on anything. Bartenders are usually pretty nice, but if itís busy expect to wait forever. Bouncers are scary-looking.

This is a fun place to go with a group if you can find that specific window when itís not too busy and thereís not bingo or trivia going on. Beer is priced accordingly, but food can be expensive. Expect to spend $20 per person per visit.

This is a great bar in an old building. Has a good sized patio for being in the city as well. Solid tap list, not a ton of taps but they always have solid beers on tap and several local NY options. The little flatbread pizza you get with each beer is a nice touch as well. Could make a meal of it if you had a few, or they have a full menu. Worth going to for sure.

Love the ambiance, wood wood wood, with a fireplace, as well as an outside area, surrounded by some of the larger buildings in Albany. Rotating beers with a pretty decent selection (sorry, Iíll never forget that damn Utica Club). Service is always friendly and the food is good. Prices are around average, but the biggest draw to me are the special events, like Barrel Aged night!

They have GOOD beers, and in several different sizes (from half-pints to big growlers); although their selection isnít exhaustive, but it rotates often with lots of good options and different styles. You also get a ticket for a personal flatbread pizza with every beer, which is both a great bargain and a great promotion. (Thereís no way I could eat as many pizzas as I have beers.) The brunch is also really good (I love the chicken and waffles).

Heard there was a 2 story craft beer bar in Albanywith a mechanical bull, so naturally I had to experience this place. Good knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a really nice space too. The menu was very solid and seemed to have a lot of seasonal and special release rotation. I was able to enjoy a bottle of Goose Island Juliet and take a couple of them with me too.

Great setup with something for everyone- long wooden tables, big wooden bar, beautiful patio, and upstairs an additional bar and mechanical bull! Wonderfully friendly staff and management, who allow us to host our brew club meetings upstairs. Samplers are a great deal, and so is free pizza with every pint!

nice bottle list, pretty good draft, the crossroads IPA ws very nice. Trying to appeal to too many crowds> beautiful building, amazing outdoor patio, shitting club music, ten frat guys snorting vodka off of the bar. If you want to be a great beer bar, which it defiantely can be, be it. Loose all the frat party bullshit. From what i can tell they are making a lot of $$$$, so what do i know
