Comments: Itís a famous BBQ that has been on more than a dozen TV shows, mostly food network. However, their food wasnít exceptional and it is famous probably for the novelty of its location, bizarre decor, and live music. Beers on tap were about four local MS beers including Yalobusha and Lazy Magnolia. Served in plastic cups. Kegs werenít particularly fresh. Staff were friendly. Good MS tick I guess.

A hillbilly hangout that is just huge. Service is help yourself, which is not really clear. Beer selection in pretty big and decent for a place that has no aspirations as a craft beer place. Very expensive though. Food for me was just decent. Really soft meat that fell off the bones, but had no texture. Sauce was sweet with no real depth. My opinion, which is in the minority for this place. I would give this place a pass.

Holy crap, what is this place? I can believe that it really is built from old junk. What ever it is itís pretty cool. Itís about a mile off of I-10 and itís really several buildings all connected by some makeshift roofing. Inside is all kinds of random stuff hanging from the ceilings including some rope lighting which is the only source of light in the building. When you enter there is a courtyard of sorts with some picnic tables that seems to be the family area as there were kids screaming and running around everywhere. Inside the larger building is the bar and the stage where they often have live blues music. This is really what I came for as I wanted to experience some of the Delta Blues but this guy was just alright and was more influenced by rock and roll. Not bad but not quite what I was hoping for after being obsessed lately with Muddy Waters and Lead Belly (and of course who can forget Robert Johnson). Oh well, it was still fun.
Allow me a moment here to rant about BBQ. If thereís one thing I love ticking more than beer and beer places itís BBQ. Iíve become disillusioned with poor tri-tip preparing skills so I mostly stick to what ever the house recommendation is (so long as itís not the tri tip sandwich). Not sure where I read it but someone recommended the ribs, and wow, were those good. I usually scroll past ribs as theyíre over priced and not as good as pulled pork or brisket but god damn. Best ribs Iíve had in well over a decade. Seriously. Get some. The sauce is pretty good (tangy and sweet, only mildly smokey) but the combo of the sauce and the preparation of the meat is amazing. The sides of beans and mac and cheese were good but were just filler next to the meat. <insert Homer drool>
Not only do they have amazing ribs and good music but they actually have a pretty awesome beer list. They have a dozen taps of mostly local beer including several breweries around Mississippi that I had never heard of. They also have several fridge doors full of interesting bottles, some local some imported. On tap I tried a beer from the new (I think) Yalobusha brewery and a bottle from Back Forty called Naked Pig. Both were decent but nothing amazing. If you donít want that you can get a bottle of Chimay or Delirium from the fridge among about a hundred other choices. I need to come back here some day.

Had a great time at The Shed. Cool concept, in that its built from salvaged junk. Open, airy, and friendly. Honestly the best ribs I have ever eaten. Very uncommon is the large selection of beer, mostly in bottles and overpriced ($5 for a local 12oz), but hey it is a great selection. Service was great, we met the ownerís family and they were very gracious hosts. I would absolutely recommend The Shed to anyone visiting the area.

A true old school BBQ Joint made out of junk....literally. Itís all about BBQ, Blues and Beer. Beer is ice cold and they have a great selection for a restaurant. The bbq is great, just like I like it. One of those "got to go" places.
