Probably the top brewery in Lexington according to most everyone I talked to in 3 different Lexington establishments (although in all fairness...I did not have time to visit the other one..."Against the Grain"). They had 24 beers on tap of which 20 where their own and the other 4... guest taps. I tried 8 of them (2 flights of 4 each). I most enjoyed the Lazy Rye Pale Ale and the Dry Hopped Saison with Simcoe. They also had 2 Alpha Experimental IPAís...same recipe each...one with Simcoe...the other with Mosiac. For me the Mosiac was the standout of the two. Also notable were the 10.5% Double Barrel Shotgun Rum Barrel Aged and the 11.3% Namakemono Rye Whisky Barrel Aged Strong Ale. Not to be counted out either were the Cliff Jumper IPA and Half Way Home Pale Ale. The place is small and gets crowded easily...although there is a nice back patio with another set of taps (nice job with designing the taps into a Chevy pickup tailgate and rear window). The staff here was really nice. The only reason I didnít rank them a little higher is that as good as their beers were...most were not quite the standouts I was hoping for and had the pleasure of tasting on my 10 brewery craftbeer tour. This is not a criticism...their beers were very good...and others will disagree with me...but I think most of them still have another notch to go on the ladder before this place can be considered truly great. I hope they get there.

Very impressed by this place. The quality of the beers is really quite high. Had eight during my Wednesday night visit, and almost all were top class. Great value and service, too. There are a lot of Country Boy beers on tap, perhaps 15 or so, along with beers from other breweries. The place itself is a fairly classic taproom, without much to distinguish it from other taprooms next to breweries on industrial estates. There was a food truck outside when I stopped in. If you are visiting Lexington, then this spot should be your first visit.

Penultimate stop of the evening. Doing a pretty solid business at 8PM on a Monday, but street parking not a a problem (they have a lot as well), and I did find a seat at the bar. Flights available - pick four. Kind of a pain to read the chalkboards if you are seated at an end of the bar. Service was solid and helpful. Some of the beers were pretty good actually. Recommended, but not a 90+ place.

Went here as a pit stop during the Bourbon Trail. The beer far exceeded my expectations. I tried about 8 beers and they were all surprisingly amazing. Tons of styles, mostly original with 24 taps. Great college atmosphere during the UK College Basketball game. Very busy, but efficient. Everyone was very friendly especially the bartender who gave me a taste of their coffee stout that was reserved to be released a week later. Decent amount of seating for a smaller space. The tanks are not visible from the bar, but can be seen from the front door if open.

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon around 5 PM. There is a parking lot behind the building, but I couldnít really tell if it was specifically for the brewery. It might be shared. The building pretty much a warehouse that they have finished part of for a tap room. At this hour, the place was pretty busy, but we were still able to have a table to ourselves and get good service. They had 24 beers on tap, and about 75% or so were their own offerings. Lots of variety of styles ranging from sours, stouts, pales, and so on. They even had some ciders and barrel aged stuff on tap. Did not see bottles offered, but there was a note on their board about a bottle release coming up. Bathrooms were nice, but didnít really care for the way they had their paper towel dispenser. It was a chain running through a roll of paper towels. Didnít seem to work well. The bathroom was clean though, which is the most important factor. Very enjoyable atmosphere. Would definitely return.

I stayed near this place so I could check it out easily. Itís in a dimly lit side street, so plenty of parking. There was a small tent set up outside where folks were grilling, very brave since it was freezing cold outside. The tasting room itself has a large U shaped bar, and there are plenty of tables. Barman Zack knew everyoneís name, and reached out to get to know me even though he was really busy, just in constant motion pouring pints non-stop for locals and students alike. Large number of taps included almost a dozen of their own and a whole bunch of interesting guest taps, so it was easy to make a night of it here. You can do samples of 4 ounces one at a time or flights of four, or 8 ounce pours, or full pints (including of the 10% stuff!). Beers are tasty enough. Good place.

Visited three breweries in Lexington on a Monday afternoon. This is the highest rated on RB. I had a nice sampler collectin of 4 beers, 2 of which were very good, 1 was good, one was subpar. The small bar area was full, with a handful of others milling about. There was a huge food truck outside the warehouse locale. I wasnít made to feel welcome at all; the bartender seemed almost annoyed with my presence and bruskly told me there was someone sitting where I was trying to order at the bar. Not my favorite stop on my quick Lexington brew tour, but worth the stop. Brewery #683.

Visited on a Saturday evening. The place is in an industrial area just outside of downtown. There is no food, and there werenít any food trucks when we were there. There were some menus by the water cooler next to the door, though. Nondescript from the outside, and a little more inviting inside. We took the last two spots at the bar - most tables were full. They had 12 house taps and 12 guest taps at the time. Such a great mix of their own stuff- maybe four barrel-aged beers, and a nice mix of styles. Something for everyone, and itís really good beer. The guest taps were impressive, too; just a solid mix of national crafts. Prices are good, too. The knock Iíll give the place is that despite one bartender coming right over when we sat down, they just werenít very nice. The other bartender actually blew me off in a fairly rude way after I asked a really simple question about their smaller growler (a shape Iíd never seen before). Uncalled for. Despite this, Iíll definitely be back when Iím at Lexington and give their staff another chance because I really do like their beer and their vibe.

Not a huge place but itís awesome nonetheless. Looks almost like a warehouse as you walk up to it. Small little tap room with big long wooden tables. Had probably 20 or 25 taps. A few guest taps but most were country boy beers. Very fast and friendly service and very reasonable prices on everything offered. You can tell the most important thing to them is brewing quality beer and it really shows. Everything sampled was very respectable. Nice little beer garden/patio outback with hop vines growing up the side. Awesome place, I will definitely be back.
