A smaller sized Mellow Mushroom. Street parking only, it seems. Typical psychedelic decor with a bit of UK pride mixed in. Staff was competent and friendly, but they seemed like they didnít want to be there. The draft list was similarly un-inspired. Good stuff but the local beers were the same you find everywhere. One Country Boy tap, which was cool. I tried a Calzone special, for which I was overcharged by a dollar. It was tasty but WAY too big. I stopped here because a lot of other places I wanted to eat were not yet open. I wouldnít recommend seeking it out.

Nice restaurant right off UK campus. Not an extremely large place - not bad in June but could see this place being a zoo during the school year. Decent selection of beers with some locals (although Magic Hat #9 has been removed from their tap list for some mysterious reason (wink, wink)). Decent place.

Ambiance seems geared to summer, open air feel: many patio doors to the inside, shoes hanging from the ceiling, 60s\70s retro decoration and music.
Service was good, but a little slow (though the place was busy, to be fair). Made good suggestions on food but no beer suggestions (she agreed with my friends selection).
Selection was better than average, some regional beers (Schafly, Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Left Hand) and some national craft (Rogue, Breckinridge, AVBC). Not many imports of note, and no trappist beers or Lambics. Tap selections could be much more diverse.
Food was the best part of the trip. Me and my friend had hoagies (jerk chicken and italian) and were both completely pleased with portions and flavor.
Food value was great, but beers (especially imported: 9 dollars+ for Samuel Smithís beers) were somewhat high.
Certainly worth a return trip for the food alone (though the beers werenít completely shabby). Will be nice to go back in the summer and enjoy the nice patio space.

Stopped here 8/02 on the way to Florida. sat outside so cannot say much about the ambiance but I will give them a good rating because the picnic tables were cool. had the Hawaiian pizza and the bogart pale ale both good.

Very friendly staff and good service. Less selection than Pazzoís but itís an excellent altnernative if you canít get a table at pazzoís during pint nite. My favorite is the calzone.

Great place! The MM always has great food, a nice beer selection, and a friendly (mellow) staff. A wonderful location between UK and downtown makes this place handy for just about everyone. Recommended!

I frickiní love the mellow mushroom. Where else can you go to get awesome pizza, a very generous vegetarian and vegan menu (thank you), lots and lots of good beer on tap, and all the psycadelic artwork and surroundings possible? On this particular day we ate the Kosmic Karma pizza and a tempehhoagie which were both phenomenal. I drank a pint of arrogant bastard ale and abita purple haze, both on tap. Great, service, quiet surroundings, that is until a family of ten with screaming kids sits by you. But the waitresses were more than glad to let us move to a more secluded area. Great place!
