Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Ambiance & music was good, but there’s a bit of a touristic atmosphere. Service was very good as I was welcomed by one of the most active Belgian ratebeerians (kraddel). Selection is large (30 taps, lots of bottles), but less refined that at Bierhuyske which is only a few steps away. Still there’s was Tilquin Gueuze on draft and their house IPA is pretty good. Price are a bit high (of course it’s the touristic center, but prices are better at Bierhuyske too). Overall, it’s a nice place and I would probably come back if I come to Antwerp... but Oud Arsenaal is still the top stop in town in my opinion.

Nice interior, it must be a cosy place in the winter, but smelly. With 30 taps and 100s of bottles, this is surely a good place to stop for a beer, although there is nothing surprising; also, the list on the wall is well organized!

Located in the middle of the beautiful Old Town, just a stone’s thrown from the grand City Hall, this bar is a nice place to enjoy a drink and get hold of some Belgian ticks. Do it either in the cozy interior or at one of the twenty-odd places in the beer garden in front of the entrance. The number of taps (30) is impressive, although half of them spurt standard Belgian stuff, wide,y available in bottles outside Belgium. The number of bottles is truly heartwarming, too. The staff are nice and friendly and seem to be quite knowledgeable about the products they serve. I haven’t tried the food, as I had just had early dinner before I came here. Not cheap but decent. Will be back again one day, I hope.

Selection is quite standard apart from some Struise and their own house beers made by The Musketeers. Nice to see so many taps though. Service is really poor. Some staff were unattentive, one guy was just purely ignorant.

Great little place with a solid taplist and very nice bottle selection including quite a few lambics (nothing crazy though). Service was spectacular and the outside deck was wonderful. Food menu is mostly appetizers, with a few vegetarian (but no vegan) options. Definitely worth a stop when in Antwerp.

Central but not too touristy, decent selection of 30 draft beers. Prices OK.

Nice enough place for a drink. Large menu, plenty of taps of which about half were interesting, and of course a massive bottle selection. I was there mid afternoon so no real atmosphere. Service was friendly enough.

Two beers made just for the bar as well as a huge extensive collection of beers from not only Belgium but Netherlands and elsewhere. The staff know their beers and all you have to do is ask. A defiantly excellent bar.

We (me & Loz) visited here on Friday 7th February 2014, we also visited again on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th February, this was Loz’s favourite bar of the weekend. Like the Bierhuyske around the corner this is another great addition to the Antwerp beer scene that has popped up since I was last here approx’ 3-4 years ago. The tap choice is huge with approx’ 30+ beers on tap, there is also a very large bottled list I had a De Molen Stout, Rasputin I think. What I liked about this place in particular was that in terms of seating it is spacious, I didn’t feel cramped like I tend to find in many other bars like Paters or Kulminator for instance. The staff were attentive, smiley and knowledgable and worked very hard. As you enter there are tables either side there is a small seating area upstairs and further seating at a raised area to the right and rear of the bar. Not sure what this place was previously but it is a nice building and makes a very good bar. Ok so the beer choice maybe isn’t quite at the lofty heights of the two best specialist beer bars here but it is still a fantastic range and would certainly please even the most demanding beer afficiendo who visits. Really liked this place.
