Smallish place. Long, dark woods but kinda bright. Bartender was standoffish but helpful. Beer quality was solid to very good. Flights are steeply priced. Overall worth a stopp.

Want to rate this higher. Very nice visit. Service was great. Limited selection of 9 beers on tap and a few guest taps. Beers were well made. Would visit again. Check out the cieling. Tasters were 4 for $10.

Corner place, street parking within a couple of blocks. Long J-shaped bar, and you can buy your own stool for $4500. Solid beer selection and a few ciders, and staff had good recommendations. Food seemed mainly to be pretzels, but there were probably other things as well. Worth a look.

Very nice space. Old building that they’ve restored. Got a sampler of 4. Beers were fairly average.

A small brewery with a wooden bar and high tops surrounding it. Service was good with a single bartender keeping the beer flowing for a rather large crowd. They had 12 beers on tap with samplers available. No food available but prices were good. A pretty cool small brewery with solid beers.

Sweet beer bar vibe in this joint. $2 small pours - also sweet. Way chill. Beers solid. 9 on tap today.

Like a friendly neighborhood bar, but with good beer. Eclectic recipes and selections. Friendly bartender. Some food selections but we didn’t eat. (sorry but the tacos next door are can’t miss) Would love to have a place like this within walking distance.

This is a great nano-brewery in the East Side of Madison Wi. Small but tight selection of beers. By far as good of beer as you are going to find in Madison, or anywhere else. They may be small, but the motion of their ocean is great. Their server Brianna was a delight!

Small start up (just past their one year anniversary). A building selection of home brews, and they are quite tasty. This place is defiantly worth a try if you are in, or passing through, Madison, WI.

Visited August 10, 2012 (GTMW eve).

Found this completely by accident. We did a pub crawl (a very long crawl) through Madison the night before Great Taste and ended at Alchemy for dinner and Dark Horse beers. Noticed this from across the street. It was really busy when we went in at around midnight. I tried their two house beers, made on their tiny little system behind the bar (I’d be surprised if it even was one barrel). The kolsch and tripel both werent bad. I also tried the ESB from House Of Brews.

The bartender was real nice. They dont do samples but with only two house beers it wasn’t too bad splitting a couple of pints. We met some interesting people in that bar too. One guy was a playwright and told us all about the stuff he had written over the last 40 years. Another guy was drawing on a sketchpad at the bar. Nice people over all.
