We visited here Saturday 4th May 2013 whilst in Hastings for the ’Jack in the Green Festival’ which takes place over the first B/H weekend in May. Sadly this was the last day of operation for this pub, everything, fixtures, fittings etc was being sold and the pub was closing up at the end of play, sad really as this was quite an interesting and slightly quirky place. The pub is/was situated on a corner in the new town area opposite a Sainsburys small/metro stall. The choice of beers was limited, understandable really as it was closing and was only Hastings Blonde or Bitter from mini keg. Pub. The furnishings (what was left) was an interesting mixture of styles with 50’s, 60’s and 70’s chairs and tables and a good smattering of Formica. Not really sure what else to pub about this place, maybe it will re-open under a different name sometime soon.

Small laid back bar in an older building opposite the Sainsbury’s Local by the rail station. It is certainly a place to be seen if you are younger and hip but it does attract all ages for its general welcoming ambiance. There’s a couple of rooms to sit in and sofas in each along with some other comfortable period style furniture. The ales available are local on a small row of pumps.
