Old school Czech bar on the way down from the castle. A bit of a tourist trap and very busy even on an early afternoon. Three taps, I don’t think they had bottles. Too busy to have a good atmosphere.

Very czech place near Zamecke Schody, on route from Hradcany to Charles Bridge. 3 Taps, very good Pilsner Urquell, amazing paprika sausage and nice crepes. Nice and helpful service. Toilets look bad.

Close to U Hrocha, larger but some of the same feel to it, could be very busy at times, but also a quiet haven from the tourist, touring their way up Nerudava behind an umbrella.

(Visited July 2012) Classic Czech beer bar at the bottom of the climb to the castle, at the corner of the Mala Strana square. Brown wooden interior, swift and friendly service. Inhabited by tourists and locals alike. Beer selection is down to Pilsner Urquell and unfiltered Bernard. Do check in for the excellent, and quite uncommon, unfiltered Bernard on your way to or from the castle.

Great old school watering hole on the way up/down form the Castle. Hit this place (along with the Black Ox and The Hippo) in the Little Quarter. Skip the Pilsner and get Bernard unfiltered. Great stuff. Typical old school Czech place.

Yes. On your way down from the castle. Almost when you reach the foot. You got Thunovska and U Hrocha 100 meters left behind a block. Here they serve Urquell and Bernard unfiltered which is not easy to find i Prague. Fresh and good. A nice Pit stop!

Classic pub though in a tourist area, coming down from the castle. Prices are also very cheap. The scoop is unfiltered Bernard, which is an excellent beer, a little hoppier than the tank Urquell you get in other great pubs in the area.
