Great, Small Public House with a good selection. If you go on the weekend nights you might be cramped but best HTF selection in Springfield.

When in town, I was told by a local that this bar would have the selection I desired, and boy were they right. There were many large beers on tap as well as many different bottles; however, the place was tiny and crowded. People kept bumping into me as I sat at the bar, and I kept wondering how many more bodies would be violating the fire code, which put a damper on enjoying my beer. On top of that, it seemed as if the two bartenders there were stretched beyond their means, for it took me about 10 minutes to inquire about their bottles (with not much feedback past "Theyíre there" and a finger pointing to a cooler I couldnít see), order one, and receive it. Additionally, the bartender who seemed to be commanding my side of the bar was constantly taking shots with drunken ladies without really giving anyone the needed attention. Iím sure I wouldnít mind going here in the middle of the day when almost no one else has the same idea as me, but I wonít be returning if itís busting at the seams.

I found this place by accident one night when I was out on the town with friends and it is now my favorite bar in Springfield, MO.
First off the place is TINY, I donít remember ever being in a smaller bar, this gives you the ability to order from the bar no matter where you are sitting, and gives it a homey/warm feel. the decor is Old English with cricket bats and beer mugs lining the walls. It is really a beautiful bar.
There are only ten (10) taps at the bar, because of limited space for keg storage, but the taps are always rotating. I am in the bar at least five or six times a month and there is always something new every time I walk in the door. The bottle selection is excellent for the space they have and again, rotating.
The owner will often set up a firkin of something interesting on the top of the bar and serve it till it runs dry. This along with other things makes the overall atmosphere of the place very unique and enjoyable.
The two downsides of the this place are the limited selection (due to space and the fact that there are a lot of beers you canít get in Springfield) and the lack of food. To make up for the lack of food there are always pretzels and mixed nuts available at the bar.

Really great place. What a real Pub should be. They have a great Irish folk band on First Fridayís. Not a ton of taps but pretty solid bottle selection. Definitely worth a trip.

Small, narrow dive with a muscular selection of craft beers, including locals (Motherís) and regionals but also several British bottles including Fullerís. Seems to get fun and random things on draft, like the occasional Boulevard collaboration, Lips of Faith, etc. Bands play here but I donít understand where they put them. Friendly folks. Great little place with character, and there have always been great little places of character, but these days they tend to have better beers.
