Dammit. I stopped here looking for something to take to the hotel for a nightcap. I was not expecting a lot based on reviews, but the store itself is very Whole Foods like, and the beer selection at WF is generally decent. I finally found the tiny little area devoted to beers (almost all in coolers), and wow was I disappointed. Mainly just "shelf craft" six packs and a few ultra common bombers lying around. Weird use of fridge space too with a bunch of dark beers in the fridge and Sculpin sitting out on the one tiny part that was not refrigerated. They also had 5 taps of common local craft in the food service part of the store. Meh and double Meh.

This is a very pricy grocery store with a very decent selection of (mostly) local brews - Dogfish Head, Flying Dog and DC Brau. Of course, this being Montgomery County, the beer price includes plenty o’ Martin O’Malley taxes.
Still ... nice to know about it and a great place if you seek out fresh bread and cheese to accompany your beers.

As good as it gets in Montgomery County. They don’t stock American lagers, or other similar imports. The beer guy Todd is very knowledgeable and is doing a good job with their selection. Prices also can’t be beat in Montgomery County.l
